15" Rims for Sunny

Hi to all,

 

I just booked a Sunny and the delivery date is expected to be sometime in March. Among other things, it will come with sports rims. When I went to take a look at various stock Sunny sports rims, to be honest, they all look very complicated (too many spokes). Just wondering, is there any 15" rims that's comparable in price to stock rims and simple in design? Like just having 4 or 5 thick spokes? Like some of you use for your icons?

 

My dealer has agreed to replace it with rims of my choice, provided its not too expensive. If it is above a certain budget (which he has not made known to me), then I will top up the difference. Please advice.

nope. got it at sin ming drive blk 176. 03-22 choon seng tyres.

 

5 spokes and the spoke is a bit roundish de.

anyway sold the car and the rim was taken by my cousin and then he oso sell his car liaoz..so duno where the heck the rim went to.

Is there much difference in price between the 15" and 16" rims? And weight wise? Cos I understand one can actually "inch up" by 2 inches. Means my new Sunny should be able to take 17" rims? Will this affect the performance of the car? Just a thought...

unless u go for light weight rims, or else bigger rims means heavier, means more drag.

 

and oso if ur rolling circumference will be altered, spedometer will be not accurate, plus performance different. bigger wheel means more drag, smaller wheel means more responsive. power wise the same.

Think I better stick to 15" or at most 16" rims. Think you can send me a pic of your car? The avatar too small, but your car looks quite chio..

stock rims of 185/65R15 is not too nice..tyres seems high and rim small.

if wan to remain at 15, i recommend 195/60R15.

16inch would haf to choose 205/50R16, which is smaller a bit or 205/55R16, bigger a bit.

17inch 205/45R17 or 215/45R17..of cos 215/45R17 looks ncier but the tyre is sure to be more ex and the car would feels more draggy.

 

for ur case maybe can use 16inch. but fuel consumption is sure to suffer oso. tyre change to 195/60R15 . look for tyres for wet weather is betta. more safe on ur ride. stock tyres are not good. my SA tells me that. he says stock tyre cannot play de. normal usage can..but not recommended fro high speed.

Ya. That's wat i thot. May decide 16" rims. FC not problem cos driving mostly on weekends and to MAS.

 

If 15", tyre should be 195/60R15. If 16" then 205/55R16.

 

Was looking at the stamford tyres webby. Seems Falken ZIEX 512 quite good. Ratings all A or higher. Am I corect on this point? Or are there better tyres? (Cheap, good, long-lasting)

My Nissan SA told me the rims that are coming with the car will be something like the simple 5-spoke version. In this case, I have a few questions that you better drivers out there can help me:

 

1. Should I change to another 15" rims? For lighter ones like the Kyowa types? Or stick to stock rims?

2. Will want to change the stock tyres to 195/yy/R15. What should yy be? 50 or 55 or 60?

3. Thiking of the Michelin MXV8. How's this tyre's performance in terms of wet / dry / comfort / durability?

 

I know I asked too many questions already. That's because, finally, after so many years, finally can afford a NEW car!! (Been driving a double cab pickup all my driving years!!) So must make it a pleasant experience.

1.rims not so impt. 15 and 17 rims weight not too much of difference. light wheels are not so stable.

 

2.stock tyre is at 185/55R15, so changing it shld be 195/60R15.

 

3. sorry never use this tyre b4. maybe can do some research here? using dunlop9000 205/55R16 $205 a piece, but a v good wet weather tyre.

Thanks for your input. Visited the Hankook shop in Sembawang and must say it was a pleasant experience. Still trying to decide which rims to go for.

 

1. May now decide to go for 16" (Gunmetal or Matt silver? Still cannot decide)

2. Hankook (K102) seems good, but then again, so are the others.

 

When I was riding a motorbike, Michlein was the tyre of choice. Really dunno should I go for them or use others? But one thing's for sure: No more Maxxis for me as they are damn noisy on my current Mazda 323. My old stock tyres were quieter!!

 

Any opinions??

James, if you go for 16inches with 205/55R16. you have a choice from hankook for K104 and K105. K104 is ultra high performance and K105 is luxury high performance. My recomendation is K105 for best of both if you are not really into speeding and fast cornering
