FC for VIOS

Hi to all VIOS owners out there,

 

I have recently bought a new vios 2 months ago and have drove to about 3500km (been through the 1st 1000km servicing). I have been taking records of my FC everytime I top up my tank. Average is about 12.3km/l, with the worst at 11.8km/l and best at 12.8km/l. Mine is an 1.5E auto version. I think only 30% of my milage is on highway. I thought Vios can hit to 14-15km/l. Anyone got any comment on this? If this topic have been posted before, please let me know where I can find.

I think 12+km/l si beh ho liao , somemore only 30% HW.

Most other autos hitting 10-11km/l only.

I believed it's quite all right considering it is auto. i used to get btw 11-12. it's not quite possible for vios to get 14-15 as told by some of my friends u must exercise strict discipline in your right foot

Interestingly, some Corolla owners are talking of 14-15.

 

Something fishy cripping under the carpet - a ligher Vios having higher FC than the heavier Corolla 1.5. A 2.4 Camry drinks less than 2.0. Heavier Lexus quieter than the lighter Camry.

I think it got to do with some technical stuffs. I was told that the engineers behind G9 were different from vios/altis. altis is also not as fuel economy anymore

u have to understand how the figure of 14~15 km/l comes abt.

 

the travelling pattern, the "heaviness" of the right foot etc etc..

I'm one of those who gets 14-15km/l on my FLG9. Worst FC so far is 13+km/l. I find that I get higher FC as time goes by. When I first got my G9 16 months ago, it was doing 12-13km/l on average. Now, I don't get below 13km/l anymore. Last FC measured 14.7km/l even though I kept the car idling for half an hour while waiting for my wife.

 

I get 19+km/l at 120kph on NS Highway

 

I'm rather light footed, rpm is usually below 2.5k unless overtaking.

 

Driving is 50% highway 50% city.

 

BTW, my car is fully stock (even the rims) except for the KNN filter and Z-stabilizer.

Mine also 1.5E Auto.. Gotten for abt a month. FC averages around 13km/l.

 

After changing to KNN, low end torque suffer so must rev harder. If not i guess should be getting 14km/l?

 

For auto, the only determinant of FC is your RF!

Got mine 3 weeks ago... Clocked almost 3000Km liaoz! Average about 16-18km/L! DarkMare on a diet of Mobil Synergy F1 (JB). Last tank clocked about (258km/13.5)= 19.1km/L

Suspect it's deliberate if Toyota got its act together.

19km/L ... like tat i recommend u to toyota to use ur car as role model

change to lightweight rims.. erm..

 

 

try to change gear @ 2.6k rpm.. for auto.. when it reaches that rpm.. just release your throttle a little.. it'll switch to the next gear..

 

 

avoid city driving

 

avoid knn filters..

 

use ron98 instead of vpower..

 

after 10k service.. change to 30W syn oils..
