Info: Air bag safety

Since Aveo does not have any air bags and some people think that without air bags make the car more dangerous. Hope this excerpt from http://www.airbagonoff.com/index.htm will change some misconceptions.

 

"Airbags detonate with about 2000 pounds of force at more than 200 mph. This much force can amputate fingers, fracture bones in the arm and face, or even kill; especially if you are too close to the airbag when it detonates."

For this reason, when steering, we must not use the bad habits like steering with one hand rotating the wheel. Always use the pull-feed method and never let your hands stray from the 10-2 positions. Many US cops have their arms broken from airbags.

Can change the steering wheel to a more sporty 1 without loosing the airbar.

 

and who can tell after 5 years will the airbag still detonate ?

In Japan, Australia and US. Car inspection also check airbag viability. In SG, they don't give a hoot about the airbag, sooo........airbag big F*** issit? I bet more than half the cars in SG have non-functioning airbags! In the end, it is just a sales gimmick by Toyota or any of the Japanese stealers.

my chevy also no air bag. Its really nice to have, and makes the car look more expensive. Best is drive safely, and do more good deeds

i can confirm the airbag is working , and it is safe to have the airbag on board

cos my airbag was activated and the airbag even went burst after activation

if without airbag , i think my face not only swollen but ...

you never knows when you need the airbag .

And another thing is , never ever take up NTUC insurance , even have to pay higher price for other ins. firm , go for them .

i think in the market , only NTUC pay market value in the event of total loss . which is exclude the COE and PARF value , which means only the OMV of 10k plus .

ya, but my optra sw dun have airbag my drive carefully and do more good deeds. maybe put a pillow handy when driving.

also guys for yr info , in future pls remember to check before purchase of insurance .

confirm with them in case of vehicle total lost , wats the insure amount .

i just encounter a total lost in my ride which is 2 months plus old and i actually lose bout 20k .wtf !!

so wts the point of insurance

 

just point of notice , SA having a veri high sales margin from the chevrolet

as nowsaday , i suppose each car on the road should be less than 7k-8k from the market value !! or even lower with such high competition

even toyota wish have a market value of 76k whereas it is only selling at 81k!!!

but chevrolet have a margin of at least 8k above

 

another pts is i do heard SE gets comms of 10% from NTUC , thus the hard push of insur from them .

In future i will not even consider any policy from them , i dun mind to pay a higher ins price whereby at least i wun loss tat much of $ in the event of any claim .
