Can anyone advise me how long does it take to register a car? From the time COE is successful until collection. Assume that ready stock available. Thanks.

pulling up an old thread.....

Just curious coz the SE is insistent that car registration needs to be done within 2 weeks of car arrival in port. Which during this period, the owner is not in Singapore to complete paperwork. Can't the registration be pushed a week later?

Think they jus want to settle and get your car out of the way ASAP.

Maybe delaying it will incur cause them to incur additional costs..... Plus can get the money earlier.

shld be able to push back the reg/collection, unless your sales agreement states otherwise.

Yes,

Need to register the car with LTA, get ur reg number from them and make number plate.

Also put in those things that the car dun come with, "local content" like IU, maybe things like reverse sensor/camera leather seats, head unit etc.

collect the remaining amt from you and the loan amt from finance company,

settle any trade-in car.....

A decent company will do a PDI, pre-delivery inspection, wash, polish/wax ur car plus touch up any blemish etc...

A short and sweet answer to your question is 'YES' however, if the SE is insistent, then ask him/her 'why not?' and explain your need to push a week later. If the SE is unable to help, seek help from higher up.

Agreed! i remember getting the SE to delay my new car about 2 weeks and no issue except her initial hesitacne..... if we explain to the SE why we want the delay, and usually it works unless the sales agreement says otherwise. [:)]
