Engine vibrate violently?

For your case, it is certianly your mounting has worn out.

You will feel the vibration more when your gear is engaged and less if it is neutral.

And the reason it goes up and down is because of your aircon. The aircon has a thermostat which will kick in the compressor to maintain the cold air. when that happens, it will cause more vibration. when the air is cold enough, the thermostat cut off the compressor and the impact from the vibration also reduces as a result.

Go change your mounting. there should be about 4 of them. Not sure how much it cost for a swift, but usually arn 200-300+ for a typical jap car.

I'm not too sure but I think it's about 1k. Will check it out later, but 1k if I do not remember wrongly.

Only vibrate like crazy when starting, once I move off it's ok. Even when I stop at an intersection etc.

if your engine only vibrate during morning and not any other times, it is not engine mounting issues.

hmmm..... i tap abit of acc, will reduce in vibrating but once in idlling mode, it vibrate and awhile later vibrate more and goes down, on and on, normal?

last time i own a march, the vibration is not like massage car.

i knw in the high speed it doesnt vibrate.

if the engine mounting problem can i check visually

From your descriptions, this engine is moded. probably some kind of racing cams installed. idling too low will suffer, but driving at speed is fine.

camshaft mod will not affect the speed and rpm settings. rpm and speed got to do with gear ratios in the gearbox and the tyre size.

if your cam are upgraded to half or full race cams then the idle rpm cannot sustain if set too low. But once the engine is warm up, it may sustain, morning start you would have to throttle up until the engine warm up and rpm cannot be too low, I have seen those with 1700 rpm idle.

Try accel from 2500 all the way to 5000, shd be able to tell if the cam are moded, the surge is definately obvious after 3K. compared with one without the mod.
