I heard Bazooka is quite well-known when it comes to Bass tube. But the commonly heard active subs are the Kenwood Wroof and the Infinity Basslink. Both are well reviewed to be subs that doesn't take up your space.

i have no intention to upgrade.... so need to find a reasonably good one .... and space saving unit ... so it seems that kenwood and infinity are the one to go ... which model exactly? .... thanks [:)]

Woof and basslink like I mentioned. Anyway, each have their perference. Avtive took out the hassle of the need for a amp.

But I would suggest installation of a decent components first, if you don't have tweeters. It is cheaper and can still have rooms for future upgrade. And of course there is not space involved. The mid bass speaker for the components will have a good bass too.

why active sub.subwoofer with box is better, just get a 8" or 10" or 12" with a 2ch amp,is better than active.and u can upgrade nextime.if u really want to get active sub. get the infinity basslink 10" will be alrite.or pioneer ,kenwood is cheaper.

actually if i deviate from active subwoofer .... i'm opening myself with many choices ... and that's a no no for my pocket ... hehehe .... let's say ... i'm going ahead with infinity basslink 10" ... what will be the equivalent for passive subwoofer in term of sound quality and price ... thanks for your inputs~

if u get active sub basslink the prize around $500 to $600 .and if u get a 10" sub u can get cheaper want like prize around $150 to $250. box $60, amp like $250.all together about $500.is better then active ,sub if talking about sound & bass.

For $500, why not consider my Xtant A2002T bridged pushing SS Exact 10 sub in 1 or 0.5 cu ft sealed box [rolleyes] . Guaranteed solid bass.

Which exact model?

Try the Bazooka new 200W version. 8200

Set u back around $560 I think.

Box and tubes have different feel for bass.

Tubes are good for Kick bass. Box are good for more extended bass.

if u like loud bass, use vented box, music like trance, hit hop, rap,if u like solid bass use sealed box ,music like pop, jazz, rock, country, especially slow music.u will find a lot of different between this two boxes.trust me get a 8" sub ,if u no cash.get a 12" sub if u enough cash.with box .no regret ..............

Thks for the pointers. Already have an active sub in the car, came with the stock sound system but it totally sucks, thats why looking at a replacement or maybe just disconnect it totally. Space is my concern mainly, don't want something that takes up the whole boot. Thks.
