Felipe 3rd Gear April 29, 2005 Share April 29, 2005 yea, fully aware its manual. just treating as an auto in the sense that the left foot can be left out, as most locals wud consider an auto as such. anyway, my point is the selespeed is the best system for me to use without the left foot, hence the 'emulator' of the left foot. as for the lag and selespeed reliability, thanks 4 the correct info ↡ Advertisement

Yansen Neutral Newbie April 30, 2005 Share April 30, 2005 The DS is meant for pickup when you wanna overtake. sure. when you're overtaking a scooter lor... Heh. But after I changed my exhaust, filter and SAFC2, the car was a lot mroe responsive, even with CVT. The GDi engine is actually damn good. But the CVT spoils it... ya wat a waste. i've driven mit lancer manual b4 n the engine feels not bad, cant say the same if u pair it wif a cvt. but anyway many who get an auto lancer (not sayin u) not really into driving, so they also dont really care wat gearbox. Hacker Neutral Newbie May 1, 2005 Share May 1, 2005 There's also Audi's and VW's DSG transmission . Their CVT, BTW, is very, very good . yes it is. but it still saps power. the reason why a 1.8T A4 with 163bhp cannot pull away fast from me is because of the CVT. and I have only 150bhp. The A4 also generates more torque than my car. Yet it can't shake me off... And it has turbo. I don't. bloody CVT. Different comparison if you are talking about performance. Many people are saying that CVT had this "rubber band effect" and gear changes were not smooth. I beg to differ if you are talking about VW's and Audi's DSG CVT. Definitely not your average CVT. Eyke Supercharged May 1, 2005 Share May 1, 2005 DSG is not CVT. It is auto-dual-clutch manual.
Littleblackalfa Neutral Newbie May 1, 2005 Share May 1, 2005 dude. try driving like a go-kart. it's a lot more fun... the left foot is for braking. takes a while to get used to, but it's a great technique for control. ↡ Advertisement
