Hypermount Neutral Newbie March 23, 2006 Share March 23, 2006 You got to know in the UK and Europe where Top Gear addresses to, is different from our situation here. Superior engineering who don't want to buy. I would love to have a Jazz/City but at 2004 prices, impossible. Over there, better buy Japanese or European because the depreciation makes Pacific Rim car hard to sell later. For us, whatever car is hard to sell later thanks to our unique artificial situation and it is ideally you don't sell and scrap in year 10. That is why I say this. Those who worshipped the reviews at Top Gear are like people reading Bible or Quran but applying the teachings in the WRONG CONTEXT. Bible says dragon is evil monster. Now got silly idiots see pictures of chinese dragon in somebody's home say must burn the picture. Stupid idiots! In those days when the authors wrote the Bible, they were Greeks and in their culture and time then, dragon is terrible monster and they use it to describe something terrible. These people tried to apply AD4 context to AD2006 context! Same here. Apply UK financial concept of depreciation and value to Singapore's concept of depreciation and value. Of course concept of automobile performance is the same around the world but money talks in Singapore a lot more. You do buy an Alfa or BMW if you have more money than common sense. hmm great post.. on that video they were just commenting on a press release by Proton about savvy's launch..never touch or look the car in flesh..do you think is that fair ar? no right. I saw your post at savoc..hope you will feel right at home.. I read from other Singaporean members in this thread, 200 units have been sold in SG..not bad. http://www.savoc.net/forum/forum_posts.asp...=591&PN=1&TPN=3 Check out the R3 zerokit for savvy, a bit pricier than custom bodykit but worths it as they came with anti-chip coating. ↡ Advertisement
Hypermount Neutral Newbie March 23, 2006 Share March 23, 2006 I have driven manual conti cars like a '78 Mercedes 200, '03 Skoda Octavia, '01 Renault Clio, '88 Renault Alpine, '89 BMW 318i but their gear stick is not as stiff as the Savvy's. Maybe the savvy in the showroom is new..I dun have exp. with conti cars but definitely the gear shoud've loosen up over time...if you can try savvy MT's which had been used for quite sometime probably can feel the apparent difference which owners don't.. Vit4wd 1st Gear March 23, 2006 Share March 23, 2006 Did you see the blue showroom Savvy? 2 front doors alignment off (compare with back doors).
Vit4wd 1st Gear March 23, 2006 Share March 23, 2006 renault engine is hopeless Can you explain or justify why?
Kelpie 2nd Gear March 28, 2006 Share March 28, 2006 Must admit that the door rubber seal of the Savvy on display is crude. Perhaps that gave you an impression that the alignment is off. IMHO, buy the 2nd or 3rd batch of Proton car, it tends to get better in refinement as what I've observed in their Gen 2. Regards,
Vit4wd 1st Gear March 28, 2006 Share March 28, 2006 You chk that car again - door alignment is really off. Nothing to do with rubber seals.
Kelpie 2nd Gear March 28, 2006 Share March 28, 2006 The test car seems to be ok leh. I found their windows winding handle very crude though. Only concerned about the interior then. Anyway, it was quite rush as we were trying to test drive a few during lunch hours. Regards,
Khee Neutral Newbie April 3, 2006 Share April 3, 2006 go for the semi auto one, better buy.. Savvy is a good buy for families looking for a second runabout economical car... won't fear being robbed too if u drive up to Malaysia... FYI... it is easier to get rob when drive up to malaysia becaz it is much earier to sell within the country without export since there is tons of them on the road... Hungryforcar 1st Gear April 8, 2006 Share April 8, 2006 I saw the actual car in AML, the photo look better than the actual car. Really look like transformer toy car.. Heng there are few colours available in the market, saw in the newspaper not just red, blue and black.

Terras14 November 18, 2006 Share November 18, 2006 How's the interior quality like in your opinion? I think you have got $400 discount for the price? The AMT is it easy to control? Drive like auto car? I don't quite like the signal and wiper position leh....use to the normal position. Maybe will take a look this weeked. Cheers.... i think most conti/europe car has their signal to the left, like bmw...pls correct me if wrong. Its a matter of how you adapt to it.....for me, i get used to it the first day after 2 years of rite hand signaling...now i drive my friends car, first signal usually will result in wiping the window..haha...
