Right looks for shop that has off car wheel balancer that can measure below 5gm. Most of the old machine may just show "00" reading even the wheel is still 5gm dynamically off balance.

okay. let me further explain.d: >

i first posted 12 bucks. only tyre rotation + normal balancing of 4 tyres.

30 bucks = tyre rotation + normal balancing of 4 tryes + high speed balancing of 2 front tyres

Thanks...

All Stamford Tyres have the high speed balancing?

Why only the front 2 tyres for the high speed balancing? Rear not required? Sorry... stupid question...

hmm.. not sure of the logic, but was told unecessary. He said, if u wan to haf it balanced, do i during the next rotation where the rear will come to front.

I think probably u could call up stamford and enquire. i suppose all their workshops do taht

The front tires have a greater effect on the steering if slightly un-balanced.

The rear sud b enough to do the off-wheel type as very slight vibrations will not b felt.

Anyway, when u do the next balancing, the back tires will get the on-wheel type as they wud have been rotated to the front by then.

Most of the balancers have a button on the panel. Once the wheel is balanced , the tyreman can spin the wheel again and press the below 5gm buttton to detect the remaining out of balance weight for weigh and location. Most the time by just shifting the exsiting weigh will rectify the problem

so in short, can anyone recommend a good workshop for doing off wheel balance? as in detecting below 5gm of off-balance?

When the first wheel balancer from Australia was introduced to Singapore in the late 1970s, the tyre shop that own the first unit charge almost s$15.00 per wheel. s$7.00 is dirt cheap with the amount of labour put to jack up the car , remove the tyre, mount the tyre to machine, remove balancing weight, balance the tyre, place place weigh, check tyre for balance again, remove the tyre from machine, fix tyre back to the wheel hub, and release and remove floor jack.
