I am thinking, if someone were to have "arrived", how do they show that they have "arrived"?

Or do they have to show it at all?

Show or not, that's hard to judge. Cos you see them have it, and you decided that they have "arrived". They may not feel that they have "arrived" at all, but its just a matter of affordability.

A rich guy can afford a Zonda cos he loves a unique sports car. That doesn't mean that by owning the most expensive sports car in Singapore, he is the richest. The richest man would rather someone drive him in his Mercs cos he hates the traffic. So we see them, and say, "Oh, look they've ARRIVED."

Maybe a super-rich who's richer than the rich guy who owns a Zonda NEEDS an MPV. He is productive and he has 5 kids. So he buys himself a 7-seater SUV and a big MPV like that Voyager or Estima. Do we say, "Oh, look they are not really THERE yet."?

Or someone who blows quite a significant portion of his wealth on a relatively nice car, like a BoxsterS cos he's always been a lover of Porsches. So he's arrived? He's not there? If you don't know how much he earns, you'll think he's arrived or trying to show he's arrived? So what if we know how much he earns and think he's crazy to spend so much on his car? He loves it. That's his money and his bloody business anyway.

WHO IS WHO TO DECIDE WHO HAS ARRIVED?

Wanna know the answer? Wait for the last nail on our coffin. You WILL know you've arrived, somewhere. smile.gif
