If your engine use cylindrical sleeve for the cylinders, then it very easy - just pull out the cylindrical sleeves and replace them with oversize sleeve.

For engine that do not use sleeves you will have to dismantle the block and send to speciallised machine shop for boring and honing. Before the broing process you have to get the right oversize pistons for the shop set the cylinder clearance.

Bro, assuming I wanna stroke my engine up to 1.8l,, any downside to it other than just increase Fuel Consumption? Will suffer engine probelsm in the long run?

the good thing is u get the torque n power improvement...

but if the mech is not good enough, the engine may not last long...

bro, thanks for ur advises...

2k i rather go for FI..

btw, u got any ideas how to do up an es5?

heard some say bore the throttly bodies, this n that?

if u r looking for power,FI is the fastest n most effective way...

especially turbo charged.....but $2k for a new turbo kit is not enough...

yes boring the TB does help...but u got to do other mods wif it...

one mod is not enough....like exhaust, intake, extractor r the most basic mods to start wif..if u get the right stuff for these,10 horses is not a problem...btw,is ur civic MT or AT???

if u r going NA....

then the next step shd upgrade ur fuel regulator, large TB,cam sprocket n crank pulley...

and finally the performance cam...

nothe that when u change ur cam, there r other things that needs to be changed at the same time...ie:valve,valve spring, retainers,PnP,piggy back...etc

if u were to ask about boring of TB,then its the same as changing a cam without other mods...its like a half mods n the result u get is not the optimum n sometimes it may worsen the power...

yes i think it's called a stroker kit.. any idea if any is available?

im actually thinking of dropping in a 1.7l vti-s engine, then stroke that up to 1.8l..

since from the outside the engine look exactly the same as a 1.6 one.

Actually for the 100-200cc increase, its not worth the price to pay for. You can do a bolt on TC kit with the same amount of money and the penalty is not as jialat as getting caught for cheating on engine capacity. However I must warn you that a conversion from NA to TC requires effort and skill to get it done right. A half fark job will give you much problems which you will regret in future. Maybe you'd like to sleep on it and think carefully before throwing in money. Make sure you make your moneys worth. [thumbsup]

what extractor r u getting???getting from FK???

iam not sure abt fuel reg....but i think it helps to adjust the pressure of fuel...

to control the amt of fuel needed...

recommendation of piggy back iam not very sure as iam not using one...

they hav brands like...unichip,greddy emanage,obit...etc....

depending on the mods u want to do...some u can jus use vafc, some piggy back will do n some mods is better if u get a stand alone ecu......

Fuel regulator increase the stock fuel pressure 1.7 times more. Its more of responsivness on the throttle. But ES civic cant use. A friend of mine wanted to install but not suitable for this engine.

Get the GReddy Emanage of Orbit. Have used them them before and find it not bad. Quite a bit of parameters to play around with. Best to go with dyno instead of butt tuning. A good stand alone would be the Microtech. Unless you damn rich, go for Motec etc. However, stand alone computers tend to give idling problems and sometimes difficulty starting the engine. This I can confirm. Not all will have but if you sway then u kena.

TB try not to bore. I did mine at GE and the idling sometimes get irratic although cleaned thoroughly. Best is to get a aftermarket one but will cost you double the price.
