Mintex Brake Pads-need help

u must be quite hardcore bro.. bro, for normal driving and occasionlly fast driving... wat do u recommend? find that original brakes bite ok when only its cold.. after warming up.. started to get less bite... so get a better pad rite??

It's hard to give you a firm answer. Basically, it's always a mix and match game between rotors and pads. Brembo Max rotors will work very well with stock pads. On the other hand, if you're running stock rotors, maybe can try EBC or something. Mintex is a little too harsh. I'm currently on Tarox pads and rotors, grip like hell, no brake dust and lasts forever.

BTW, to get a better pedal feel, steel braided hoses is A MUST HAVE!!!

so bro , mintex is abit harsh for stock rotor... didn't knw mintex so hardcore... ok will check out the brand that u mention... another bro mention a brand call bendix brake pad.. do u knw any thing abt that?? i think brakes r very important man.. b.t.w how u spend for the rotors and brakes pad man... i also check out the steel hoses too.. hmmm almost $300 for them..plus brake fluid.. 2 years warranty.. ok boh?

Bendix and Ferodo are reliable brands that you can check out. I know of satisfied people, myself included, using pads from either one of these brands. PM me if you want the particulars of my contact.

 

For normal driving, steel hoses might not be necessary. If you're gonna do a lot of track work, that's a different story. I've not tried steel hoses, but I feel that it's money spent for a bit of extra feel. Effective stopping power for normal road driving can be had by choosing good pads and rotors. Plus, when you do your change, if you change brake fluid and bleed the system too, you'll get better feel too.

 

Also, whatever pads you get, make sure that they are spec'd to provide effective bite from cold. Performance pads spec'd to much higher temps may need to warm up to be effective, which means they aren't great for daily use. You don't want these type of pads. For example, Ferodo Premier is good for daily use and can do a bit of track work too.

 

As for rotors, again, for daily use, don't think you really need the slotted types like Brembo Max.

Mintex red is the hardest of the lot. But the orange is very often mistaken to be the red. Red is strictly not for road use, track use only and they only bite when really hot, temperatures you'll not see even if you e-brake from 160kmph.

wow and they make them for my stock calipers? and so cheap? looks like i must take my car to the track to test out its true capablility...
