Has Our Road Etiquette / Courtesy Improved?

back for 2 weeks. in sg now, not even 4 days, some taxi driver honked me for giving way to the bus exiting bus stop. this morning, saw a car changed lanes on PIE in front of a semi trailer. no indicators less than 1m in front. i guess that fella has never watched truck drivers dash cam videos in russia before.. i mantain that every country's drivers have their own bad habits. Eg. australian drivers on sunday. especially moms in big suvs hogging the right lane and think they're better than everyone because they are doing the speed limit and should not give way just because you want to go faster. For europe though, it's standard etiquette for people to give way to faster moving traffic in their left lanes. they have way better standard and etiquette over there. you rarely see road hogging across france, belgium and germany unless it's drivers from eastern europe. i've safely gone above 120mph (mostly between calais and paris) and still maintaining courtesy to other drivers

    Unusual or rare cars

an E30 to me is considered vintage and rare. a good mate of mine has one in 4 door 4cyl version with an auto gearbox. not special or rare by an means but definitely a looker. now this 2002 i'd assume is WOW. i'd love to see that in person..

    Let's talk about airport lounges

use redemption miles la. get to enjoy the perks without selling a kidney or liver. booked in suites on SQ to tokyo in november, sadly not the new one as speculated. new suites being pushed back to jan 1, 2020. but will report back on private room and osaka lounges if i remember.

    Let's talk about airport lounges

i read somewhere but can't remember the finer details. something along the lines of a upgrade redemption, they will stop providing chauffeur service. and also not sure about business redemption. but also something to do with partner redemption like qantas points for emirates will not enjoy that service even if it's full business redemption..
  5. next week, marina bay area will close off. can go there race. fresh tarmac some more.. good for cornering..
  6. then next time long road trip no need stop for petrol. make sure you and your passengers drink lots of water before setting off..

Seven habits of the Singapore Driver

maybe hard to say if i didn't move overseas. hard to say whether getting worse or not. the thing is if i signal in SG, 90% nobody will slow down. especially when signalling to the over to take an exit for example... drove for about 3-4 years in sg before i moved overseas. back then i always relish the chance to drive up to malaysia because NSHW people will mostly give way when you coming down the right lane.. even in normal city like kl or johor. most will always give way..

Seven habits of the Singapore Driver

majority of it is not true. i see them on a daily basis in australia as well, especially not giving way when merging. having driven in multiple countries around the world, 2 on daily basis, every country will have some c**t sitting in the right lane doing the speed limit thinking they're perfect by not braking the law. although, i see less of right/left hoggers in uk and europe.. the drivers there seem to be pretty spot on when it comes to that.. one thing i'll agree on is 7) not using indicators. whenever my laopei pick me up from the airport when i'm back, i just can't stand his driving style. OTOT don't care what lane, never use signal. when he come aust drive my car, i also scared.. not sure if i lived too long overseas, but going back sg and see friends or relative driving style, really buay tahan..

    Formula One 2019

still a fan of vettel. but i've to agree he makes too many unforced errors. seems like hockenkeim from last year is still haunting him. haven't seen him race well since that incident. coincidentally, it was also the race that lost him his WDC.. 😢

    2019 All new Mazda 3

well i'm not going to disagree with you. if you built something yourself, you'd show it off too. it'd be stupid not too. but information sharing is not a waste of bandwidth. mind you, i've picked up many parts on my trips back to singapore either because they were not available in AUS or because they were cheaper. especially people that mod cars, parts are not usually the same and the additional info helps regardless of aesthetic or performance mods. after all this is a CAR forum, is it not?

lol grow up. i'm obviously talking about models that are being sold globally. a crown victoria is an american made car and only sold in North America markets. it's on the opposite end of the spectrum compared to cars like the 3, corolla, golf and the likes..

of course i get it. if i didn't move overseas and learn much more of cars, i wouldn't have known about a lot of different models that are usually b&b cars in sg. it's also important to take in various knowledge about models available overseas to understand why the car is built in a certain way. of course, sharing any information regarding whatsoever about a model regardless of region is also good information..

if i really wanted to use something more powerful, i'd have taken my HSV GTS as a daily out.. your assumption that it is slower is based on figures in a brochure? maybe try to see the world and experience different region's market before making an assumption.. that way you'll have much for information and knowledge before you spout nonsense

    2019 All new Mazda 3

nobody here in australia is gonna put a fake badge on a car when we have countless of 500whp sleepers that look like shit from the outside.. it's not like singapore where people need to make their car more expensive than it looks. you can laugh all you want but like i said, my mazda 3 is not a 1.5 or 2L version.. 😉

i wouldn't be too quick to jump on that bandwagon just yet. if there's something that i'd be complaining in their current offerings is AWD to be made more available to other regions and to revert back to rear multi link.. hahaha depends which side of the fence you're on.... pro PAP spotted 🤣🤣 i actually enquired about the 2.5l turbo for an engine swap when it first came out on the cx-9 2-3 years ago. the unit cost 29k thereabouts.. i can get a chevy v8 for much less and spend the extra money to make it fit..
