  1. Something to end the night:-) Have a safe trip to those making a trip to Msia. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A 60-YEAR-OLD woman was so enraged by a taxi driver showing her an obscene sign, she planted herself in front of his taxi. Madam Lee Geok Hiok, a cleaner, was parking her car along the road behind People's Park Centre at 11.30pm on Tuesday when the taxi driver sounded his horn. She said: 'I gestured to him to wait and he made this rude sign with his finger.' She marched to his stationary taxi, opened the driver's door and asked him why he showed her the bad sign. 'He tried to deny doing so but then apologised,' she said. She called the police and held onto the door to prevent him from driving off. When he moved his taxi forward, she fell onto the road, bruising her right knee. When the taxi was about to exit from Havelock Square, the feisty woman stood in its way in front of the Family and Juvenile Court. The taxi then reversed and sped pass her. Police arrived soon and interviewed her and several witnesses. In April last year, financial adviser Alex Lim, 30, died after he stood in front of the taxi driven by 68-year-old Lee Yuet Kong along Scotts Road. Mr Lim wanted to get Lee's particulars after a minor collision but Lee drove away, throwing him onto the bonnet. When the cab braked abruptly, Mr Lim fell backwards and hit his head on the road. He died a month later in hospital. Lee was jailed for a year and banned from driving for life for reckless driving.
  2. it all began along yio chu kang road (near the stadium). http://www.streetdirectory.com.sg/...3A+SERANGOON+STADIUM i gave signal to turn left going towards upp paya lebar. filtered left and saw this maroon G9(could that be unker BN?) coming fast from my right. i took the left bend on the leftmost lane, he took the one on the right. i was leading, i was on the left most lane, he was on the middle, as i approached the incline,i signaled and filtered to the middle lane in an attempt to block him, i struggled, even dropped a gear and flooring it, few seconds later, he disappeared from my rearview mirror, filtered to the right lane and zoomed off the G9 overtook effortlessly on the right most lane, and leaving me in the dust
  3. i was on my way to jalan kayu with 3 people on board and at a traffic light. this concerto beside me, i thought nothing of it and drove as usual. when it turned green. the concerto zoomed off and i, i couldnt even catch up when i caught up, the driver was about to make a u-turn and today just learnt that its a 2 l car?
  4. Ok, after reading a lot of nonsense, I would like to set the record straight once and for all - the Ford Focus is the best car out there. How do I know? Well, let's take yesterday's encounter. I was pulling out of a customer's place at Changi when in front of me was the tiniest yellow jet fighter I'd ever seen, complete with four-barreled exhaust and canvas roof. Yes my friends, it's the Pagani C12 Zonda S Roadster, and this was the view I got: [inline rdrear1.JPG] This is my chance, I said to me. So what if he's got a 7.3 litre V12 AMG powerplant churning out 555bhp and 750Nm in a seriously lightweight carbon fibre chassis? I bet it doesn't have pressure-sensitive power windows! Anyhow... He must be worried to see a Focus behind him, because he's keeps revving at the lights, vibrating everything within a 50 metre radius. I wind down my windows (did I mention pressure-sensitive?) to hear it better - damn, that engine sounds good, all barritone at the lower revvs, overlaid by mad barking in the higher regions. Doesn't scare me though. I check my semi-Yamaha unit: sounds like a hummingbird doing a chihuahua impression by comparison. Hmmm... So the lights go green, and Zonda-man goes shooting off onto the ECP. 0-100kmh in 3.5sec? Didn't verify, but playing it cool I caught up with him at 90kmh in less than 20 seconds. By which time he was on the 2nd lane - he must have known I'd beat him anyway. Being the magnanimous person that I am, I pulled back to the second in front of him to give some chance. But he didn't take the bait, slowing to 85kmh 5 car lengths behind me. So I slow down a little bit more, and finally he decides to blast past (my windows down again!), to 'show who's boss'. Yeah riiiiiight. He gets back on lane two and keeps at a steady 80kmh - 80kmh! See lah, these 'supercars' must be so brittle, whack a bit must rest... In the end, I get tired of holding back, and pass him. If he knew I hadn't even touched my top speed yet, he would have felt even more embarassed. Bottom line? No point spending $2million on a cramped poser ride when you can easily seat five with power windows all round, and a big boot for less than 5% of that. Performance? Handling? What's that? And carbon fibre? The last time I tapped it, it felt soooo cheap compared with good 'ol steel. If the Focus can beat a Zonda, what else can compare????
  5. Ok ok, I know what you're all thinking: He's already beaten a Zonda, why go for the small fry? Well, the difference I must say, is that this guy looked like he was really trying... So I'm off to work, again minding my own business, when this yellow (what is it with yellow ubercars and their penchant for 'death by Focus' anyway?) pulls up one car length behind. The baby Lambo looks tuat and purposeful, having clearly benefitted from Audi's gift of athletic surfacing and spot-on proportions. Some steady driving on my part sees the Gallardo lose five car lengths, and this is where he tries to take me on the left. With a braaap-braap from the twin exhausts, he pulls ahead, but I'm not intimidated. No cut-priced Italian job's going to embarass the Focus. With a mighty sweep, I move past him, and when we part company he's at least ten lengths behind. Sigh... these guys just don't learn... Oh, did I mention that all this ocurred in peak hour bumper-to-bumper traffic?
