  3. July 1, 2008 Fatigue? Officer with music earphones, texting away I REFER to Dr Lim Boon Hee's letter last Thursday, 'Front-line staff fatigue?' He advocated looking into intangibles such as work fatigue, work hours, impact of shift work and overwhelming workload. Well said, and I believe this will be covered by the internal audit that must surely be going on following Mas Selamat Kastari's escape. However, I would like to recount a recent incident I witnessed at the Causeway immigration checkpoint on June 23, the same day the passport slip-up occurred at the Budget Terminal. My husband and I were in our car in Lane 23 at about 1.25pm when we noticed the security officer who was supposed to be checking vehicles not only had earphones on, obviously listening to music or whatever, but was also busy texting away on his cellphone. Needless to say, some cars got away without having their boots checked and those he did check were the ones whose drivers had stopped and opened their boot, without being told to do so. All this while, he was glued to his earphones and cellphone. Had he worked unduly long hours before that? I don't think so because, before we noticed his behaviour, we saw some movements in his lane, after which two officers walked away. Perhaps he had just reported for duty. 4. Sad to hear this... my daughter posted on my Facebook asking if I remember buying a tin of milo form her, honestly I could not. I need to to more for society instead of lamenting about my own current status. Heavy heart. Does anyone know where her Funeral is being held? I wanna do my part, small but something. God be with her all the way. http://singapore.coconuts.co/2014/06/11/auntie-cineleisure-passed-away-morning

  7. At Tampines Mall Kopitiam yesterday. The food court was crowded and the ah mah was slow in clearing the tables, so the fat bitch lost her temper and gave the ah mah one punch in the eye and scolded her vulgarities. It took 10 men to restrain the fat bitch, other patrons also came forward to protect the ah mah from further assault by the fat bitch http://news.omy.sg/News/Local%2BNews/Story...526-339774.html
  8. hmm.... 19-22 years old with $500K cheque and NTUC gave them the voucher before the cheque was cleared [rolleyes]
  9. This one lor No lah, I will puke and fall into a coma if this aunty did a trenchcoat flashing . . . What I meant was she high beamed me This morning she happened to be the car in front of mine and when the traffic lights turned green she drove off at 30-35km/h as usual. I speeded up to 50km/h and overtook her on the left (she was hogging the right lane). Not happy, she flashed me a couple of times and at the next traffic lights I stopped and she kept 2 car lengths away from me. Green lights came on and I did not go immediately, waited for 10 secs and she did the same (did not drive up). Then I drove off and she followed suit but at her snail's pace. When I was 200m in front, I looked into the rear view mirror and could see that she was holding up a stretch of vehicles behind her . . . go take a kiddie ride lah aunty! (20cents for 1 minute)
  10. Encountered this aunty driver in a Getz at West Mall basement carpark. Slow like a sloth, as if lost in a underground catacomb looking left and right. Was in no hurry myself following her a car length away most of the time except when she stops at turning junctions then just a feet behind. Went all the way to B2 and she glared at me when she was parking. Gave me that WTF kind of look. Fierce arrhh. ..... Hope she dun go scratch my car
  11. Saw the other thread where Pierre Png did a dangerous stunt to stop on the PIE to confront another driver, so just relating an incident this morning. Anyone here witnessed a "champion" auntie who stop right in front of the ERP gantry after Kallang Bahru towards Tuas this morning on the 2nd lane of the PIE to insert her cashcard, and I meant stop as in 0km/h not slow down. Luckily I was on the first lane approaching the gantry when a whole row of cars on the 2nd lane came to a stop. Drove pass the car and saw an auntie stretching to insert her cashcard. Think that is a damn dangerous act especially on the expressway. Wonder if the ERP gantry have any camera to capture the incident.
  12. LOL . . . it happened this morning on my way to work. I was craving for coffee and you tiao (dough fritter) and made a detour to Lau Pa Sat. Came up to this stall selling you tiao and I was the only customer at that time. < Happy like bird =) . . . . > Noticed there was only 1 available as the other helper was frying a new batch. Good enough for me . . . and I said to the aunty manning the stall. "One you tiao please" smiling at her. Aunty mumbled something and I said "Huh?" She pointed to her helper and said "Do you want to wait?" "No, I'll take the one there" I nodded my head towards the only one you tiao. "Wu mao qian (50 cents)" she mumbled loudly "Okay but why 50 cents today?" I asked. "This one shorter" she whispered and I "Huh?? You made it a long time ago and not fresh is it" * jokingly * followed by "har har" She took my $2 and faced turn black immediately . . . . slammed the $1.50 change in front of my face and glared at me. Wa lao errhh . . want to eat me for breakfast arhh?? I thought to myself. "AIYOH!!" I hissed at her . . . . showing my displeasure "tsk tsk tsk" shook my head. Nin lao hiah . . . should have given you the $50 instead and make you find the change for it. Maybe go disturb her tomolo

  14. Wife auctions evidence of husband's affair on Internet AFP - Thursday, August 14 SYDNEY (AFP) - - An Australian woman has taken revenge on her cheating husband by auctioning his mistress's "huge" panties and his "size small" condom packet on eBay. The seller, named only as Anna from Queensland state, says next in line for auction will probably be her husband's Harley Davidson motorcycle "at a start price of 99 cents and, of course, with no reserve!" A photograph shows the lacy black underpants, described as "size humongous" and the "size small" condom wrapper, which the woman found in her bed after her husband's alleged affair with a woman named Kylie. Anna says of the panties: "They are so huge I thought they may make someone a nice shawl or, even better, something for Halloween perhaps." She describes how she returned home early from work after her "soon to be ex-husband" of 22 years mistakenly sent her a romantic text message meant for the other woman, to find him discouraging her from entering their bedroom. In the room she found the empty condom wrapper under his pillow and "The Tart's panties at the foot of the bed". The listing was initially taken down by eBay because of its policy of refusing to sell secondhand underwear, spokeswoman Inessa Jackson told Brisbane's Courier Mail. "We let her know about the policy and instead she's now selling a photograph of the offending knickers," Jackson said. "eBay does connect colourful buyers with colourful sellers and I wouldn't be surprised if someone did buy these items, though I couldn't speculate on who would buy them or why. "This is obviously very therapeutic for this woman and it must be a great channel for her views on cheating and the sanctity of marriage." The photograph, which had a starting price of just 69 US cents, down from the original 99 cents asked for the actual items, had received 47 bids by Thursday, with the top offer standing at 127.50 US dollars with four days to go. The listing, along with the wife's story, has been added to eBay Australia's Best of eBay site at http://bestof.ebay.com.au. http://sg.news.yahoo.com/afp/2008081...ca0e61940.html
  15. July 5, 2008 Not a matter of faith, but of rights I REFER to the open letter NTUC Income chief executive officer Tan Suee Chieh sent to me last Wednesday and, presumably, to the rest of Income's policyholders. It is unfortunate that Mr Tan and his new management team have not grasped the fundamental concern of existing policyholders regarding Income's bonus-restructuring exercise. Contrary to what he believes is a question of faith in him and his management team, the bone of contention for most policyholders is about how Income has unilaterally restructured the bonus scheme on not only new insurance plans, but existing ones as well. The key question Mr Tan and his management team should ask is this: If the customer had known that Income would execute an about-turn and change the bonus proportion at its own discretion, would the then-prospective policyholder have signed up? It should be the right of each consumer or policyholder, not the insurer, to determine what is in his best interest. The fact that NTUC Income has unilaterally implemented the change in the bonus scheme without allowing existing policyholders the choice of opting in or out shows a complete disregard for the sanctity of policy agreements and policyholders' rights and freedom to choose. I must therefore question the sincerity of Income's 'guided principles' to protect and enhance the interests of its policyholders. It is like telling a child he is being locked in a cage to prevent him falling down and getting hurt. As society progresses and the financial sector matures, we expect a more balanced approach to consumers' rights. Dennis Liu http://www.straitstimes.com/ST%2BForum/Sto...ory_254808.html

  17. June 8, 2008 Woman stabbed to death at Causeway point A DISHWASHER was stabbed to death at the Causeway Point shopping centre on Sunday moring. The 45-year-old woman, whom colleagues knew as 'Shirley', was working at the centre's food court when she was attacked, suffering multiple stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene at about 10.40am. Police have classified the case as murder, and are looking for a 60-year-old Chinese man to assist in investigations. 19. Something to end the night:-) Have a safe trip to those making a trip to Msia. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A 60-YEAR-OLD woman was so enraged by a taxi driver showing her an obscene sign, she planted herself in front of his taxi. Madam Lee Geok Hiok, a cleaner, was parking her car along the road behind People's Park Centre at 11.30pm on Tuesday when the taxi driver sounded his horn. She said: 'I gestured to him to wait and he made this rude sign with his finger.' She marched to his stationary taxi, opened the driver's door and asked him why he showed her the bad sign. 'He tried to deny doing so but then apologised,' she said. She called the police and held onto the door to prevent him from driving off. When he moved his taxi forward, she fell onto the road, bruising her right knee. When the taxi was about to exit from Havelock Square, the feisty woman stood in its way in front of the Family and Juvenile Court. The taxi then reversed and sped pass her. Police arrived soon and interviewed her and several witnesses. In April last year, financial adviser Alex Lim, 30, died after he stood in front of the taxi driven by 68-year-old Lee Yuet Kong along Scotts Road. Mr Lim wanted to get Lee's particulars after a minor collision but Lee drove away, throwing him onto the bonnet. When the cab braked abruptly, Mr Lim fell backwards and hit his head on the road. He died a month later in hospital. Lee was jailed for a year and banned from driving for life for reckless driving.
  20. April 24, 2008 Teen dies of broken skull six days after accident By Elena Chong ONE moment he was standing at the centre divider of a pedestrian crossing on Marine Parade Road. The next moment Wrixon Chew Teck Cheng, 16, was seen running diagonally towards a bus stop and was hit by a car and flung 10m away. The Victoria School student died six days later of a skull fracture - on Oct 17 last year. On Thursday, the driver of the car, Ms Chin Li Fen, 47, an Assistant Commissioner of the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore, was named a potential defendant at a coroner's inquiry into the teen's death. Traffic Police said Ms Chin was driving past the pedestrian crossing with lights in her favour at the time of the accident. According to the testimony of Wrixon's school mate, Arthur Lim Wei Quan, 16, they were crossing the road to return to school to collect a pen. He said a flashing green man was showing when they walked to the centre divider of the pedestrian crossing. When he reached the divider, Wrixon suddenly decided to run back to the bus stop where they had left their school bags with another student. As he dashed across the road, Wrixon was hit by the car, which stopped on the left side of the road. The inquiry was adjourned to May 12 for another witness to give evidence. http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2BNews/...ory_230646.html aunty... langga 10m away... rushing SMLJ?
