  4. My Air-conditoning unit broke down. Fan coil running but there are no cold air. Outdoor unit not running. Make appointment with Daikin to come down for diagnosis and repair. ( All event stated are document with proof of invoices, pictures and records of attendance) The Chronology of event. Daikin Technician came down on the following dates: 10, 17, 22, 29 Sept AND 5 Oct 2015. On 10 Sept 15 – 1800hrs. One technician came down test and replaced the remote control set. System unable to start up. Use the Remote controller to test for Error code (E6) Went to check the outdoor condenser. And check compressor protective device – OK. Afterwhich, told me compressor faulty and need to replace. (Compressor warranty still valid). Make payment of $158.80 for the remote controller. On 17 Sept 15 – 1700hrs. Two Technicians came down. Replaced compressor and connect back copper valve and tube. Replaced Magnetic Contactor switch and its auxiliary connection wire. Took 2hrs to complete. System unable to turn on. Error code (E0). Technician reply : Fan coil electronic module card faulty; need to take back repair / replace. Make payment of $581.65. Labour accessories parts. Received CASH from owner. 22 Sept 15 – 1200hrs. (Prior that, One lady from the Service Dept called to make appointment with me and quoted me to pay them $53.50 for the module card repair.) 2 Technicians came down. Put back the module card at Fan coil unit. Turn on supply. Unable to turn on the system again. Generated error code (E0) again. Technician reply: Suspect outdoor Condenser electronic module card also faulty; need to take back repair/replace together with indoor fan unit’s electronic module card. This time took back both module cards for repair/replace. 29 Sept 15 – 1030hrs (Prior that, one lady from Service Dept called and make appointment with me and remind me to pay them $53.50 for the previous repair. I asked her, if still cannot rectify the problem, how? She replied: we will subsequently ask our Engineer to go down and check) This time, same technician and one Engineer came down. Install back the indoor module card and went outside to put back the outdoor condenser’s module card. Turn on power supply, heard a loud “POP” sound. The module card (condenser) was burnt. Tripped my DB electrical Main incoming breaker (80A) supply. Whole house no power supply. Both Engineer and Technician did further check and reply: Suspect your fan motor short-circuited. We will bring back outdoor module card for further check again. 5 Oct 15 – 1030hrs (Prior that, Same lady from Service Dept called and make appointment with me and quoted me the price $211 for fan motor (Condenser) plus back-payment for the repair of module card of $53.50. I asked her is the problem solved? She replied: can only confirm on the actual day. I asked her why she kept asking me to pay for repair cost. She replied we had already repair the module card the previous time and you have not make payment) Same Technician came down with outdoor module card. Install the card back to condenser outside. Connect to a new fan motor. Turn on power supply. Heard a loud “POP” sound. The Module card was badly burnt (took picture of the burnt module). Circuitry Fuse and Resistor badly burnt. Tripped 3 protective devices - DB Main incoming 80A MCB, 20A MCB for the aircon and also the ELCB. Technician reply: Not sure what happen. Need to check further. No problem with the original fan motor. I instructed them to “Stop Work” and ask them put back my original outdoor module card. Called the Service a couple of time in the afternoon for follow-up. Unable to get someone whom can discuss or get a satisfactory answer from the Customer Service lady. Kept saying, we will refer you to our Engineer. Finally, One Sales Engineer called in the evening. He requested to send their technician to come down and repair again. Suspect maybe some of the components faulty. I replied him: No way! Just refund me the payment made. He replied: We need to go down and take away the components installed previously i.e. compressor, electrical parts and etc, take stock and check everything is in order, put up a report and get approval from Management. Afterwhich, Finance will issue a back payment cheque to you, at least one/two month later. I wanted a letter/memo from him. He said OK. Till now, still did not receive a reply/news from them. Kept Calling the Hotline, Customer Service Ladies kept saying, will get someone to call you. Still NO response from them. Personal opinion: I was utterly disappointed with DAIKIN (S) deliverables. I did a market survey of the price. A brand new set cost me $1,850!!! I have paid Daikin approx $750 and not repaired. I feel short-changed by them!
  5. Hey bros and sis, just to share an encounter that happened to me in JB a few hours ago... After a whole afternoon and evening of shopping/eating/etc etc, I ended up at B.point Shell petrol kiosk(the one right next to JB CIQ) to top up before returning back to Singapore. As I was just about to start re-fuelling, suddenly this malay dude (30s-40s) appeared out of nowhere and pleaded with me for help. He claimed that he was robbed, and lost his NRIC and passport so he was identification-less and there was no way he could cross back into Singapore. He had "already approached the JB polis for help but they told him to go to KL HQ or something to settle his issues there". Since there was no way for him to get to KL, he wanted me to help contact his daughter and ask her to bring his birth cert to City Square tomorrow morning at 8am to prove his identity to the officials. 1st thing I said was my phone wasn't on auto-roaming, so I couldnt make any calls. This was to make it so I had no reason to take out my phone anyways, in case. He then asked for paper and a pen to write down the contact details of his "daughter" so that when I am back in Singapore I could make the call. I was still re-fuelling then, and suddenly his topic changed to "how much do you pump per tank?". I started to be more suspicious, because a guy in desperate need of identification for the authorities probably wouldn't be thinking about how much petrol I would be pumping. Just to gauge his reaction, I said $200/tank. His eyes lit up like fireworks. I slowed down the rate of the fuel nozzle, just to drag out time, and to start scanning my car's reflection for anyone else who might approach me from behind. He then walked one round to scan the occupants in my car (wifey, sis-in-law, her bf and another friend), and stopped at the fuel pump itself. Kept telling me that I could just lock the fuel nozzle to let it pump on its own, rather than me manually squeezing it in short bursts (since I was doing that to continue dragging out time and scan my reflection even more). It was at this point when he asked what brand my ride was, that I dropped all doubts about him really being in trouble. I just told him it was a Mazda, which was a lie ... since generally Mazdas aren't a popular car to be GTA-ed in malaysia (in case it wasn't just a simple scammer, but part of some organized crime crap). To my relief, the petrol station supervisor suddenly popped out, spoke a few words to the fella and he scampered off right there and then. I didnt manage to thank the supervisor as I was still in adrenaline mode and afraid that others might pop out. Although he certainly won't be seeing this, I still wanna say a very big thanks to the abang!!! Thankfully, all my occupants were aware that something was up even though I hadn't communicated anything to them, and they were all mentally prepared to take action and had stowed their bags and valuables already. My only regret was that both of my steering wheel locks were in the boot, so if I had needed a weapon all I was left with was the fuel nozzle. From now on, I will ensure that I am armed in some way when topping up petrol, no matter how busy the station might appear to be, and no matter whether it was intended to be just a simple scam, a robbery or a GTA. Even if I look stupid, it doesnt matter cuz the safety of my occupants and myself are of utmost priority. Plus, you only need one hand to operate the fuel nozzle anyways. I realise the post got abit long-winded, but since it was the first time something like that has happened to me instead of just reading about it, I feel the need to share and spread the message of being aware and alert at all times especially when one is in Malaysia. If you have occupants in the car, make sure that they are also on the lookout and not chit-chatting away or playing on their phones or whatever. Cheers, and have a wonderful and safe weekend!
  6. http://therealsingapore.com/content/my-nas...ut-hanging-flag not the first time i heard of ppl having nasty encounters with holier than thou RC members. Anyone encountered the same?
  7. Out-pro date crash with business trip departure date. Can speak to OC and get OC speak to CO for early release? Do they need any form of verification on my trip before they can release me? And, anyone encounter did a medical review one month before ICT? I was told by unit's medical center that my actual Pes Status (temp Pes E now) will be known after 3 months after my medical (July). I questioned back to the person from medical center what will be my Pes status then (from august to November) during in-camp training they cannot give me an answer. Seriously, the f--king SAF is a major screw up. My medical review was actually on March this year but due to their system fault and all slot's taken up, i had to wait for an SAF100 for medical review to be sent to me which scheduled this July instead which causes SO f--king many problems with my Pes Status, My business trip crashes with out-pro date etc. I am so pissed off right now.
  8. I am currently driving a 2year old 09' batch Ody. However I am facing some problems. What happen is that intermittently my car will restart her current especially during stops (happens also when I am driving halfway too). The engine is still running did not die off so no need to restart, its just like the current shut itself off and on again. Anyone encounter this issue? On some occassions, when I start the car the whole car has no power and cannot start, after awhile the power comes back and can start the engine. The alternator should be working fine as no issues with the charging as I have left the car standby for 2days and no problem starting the engine. Also the batt is only 8months old. Thanks for the advise.
  9. Venus : Jurong Point 's Durian empire. Name : Yu Huan [Floor Manager] Date : 9/10/11 Time : 4pm plus. Wifey placed an order for 2 durian rolls and a durian waffle at the cashier. Seated and waited for the foods to be serve. When the foods does arrived it turn out that my durian waffle wasn't waffle but instead durian chendol. Obviously they have made a mistake in my order. I was telling myself to make do with chendol since it has the same durian topping like waffle. The outlet was pretty bz with the afternoon crowds as well. Good intention on my part turn out to be taken for a ride. sigh. After 2, 3 scoops and minutes into the chendol, a waitress (Lady in the pic) came to our table with a plate of waffle. Politely i told her is fine she can take back the waffle i won't be able to finish it. I have tasted the chendol anyway. What pissed me off afterward was when she said that i have to top up the px different. Since chendol cost $2 plus more than waffle. Unbelievable she also accused me (customer) for not informing them that order was not correctly served. So the onus lie on the customer! I stood firm and say "NO" to topping up the px different. $2plus is a small issue but is the principle that matter. Through out the heated verbal exchange i was conversing in english while she in Mandarin. Only then it strike me that she aren't local. So i switch to my not so fluent mandarin and threaten to bring the issue up to the relevant authority. She than relented and offerined an "unwilling" apology. I told her straight in the face that this is not the practise/cultre in singapore. Yes i admit i gotten a bit carry away upon learning of her nationailty. I am certain if a local born and breed floor mgr i would have gotten an apology straight away. Is this the culture/practise in their country ?
  10. Pump Station : Serangoon Garden Shell Date and Time : 24sept11 2250hrs Sian, encountered a really snobbish driver just now. Drove in the station for Vpower, the 1st 2 pumps had cones with 'refuelling in progress' signage. Saw a car parking BESIDE curb, few metres away from entrance to 7-11 and possibly beside the 1st pump a car body width away, so I drove pass and seeing ahead all pumps were occupied, i stopped just before the 2nd pump which is not in service also as mentioned. Then i heard the car that parked BESIDE the curb horned for no reason, i turned my head and saw the LL face driver waving at me exasperatingly, showing the hand palm face up sign while still horning. Then I realised he was ACTUALLY waiting for his turn BESIDE the curb. So i just waved back exasperatingly too for him to drive ahead of me to the pump that was just vacated lor. As this drama unfolded, there was actually no car behind, so do u think i know he was actually queuing and i wanted to jump queue? Actually wanted to let this small matter pass, but as i drove pass his car and he got down and gave me the LL look of 'u want to jump queue issit?'. I really cannot stand it but to wind down the window and told him, 'how i know you are waiting?' You know what his reply? 'den what, u think i looking at the scenery?' Ya right looking at the scenery parking BESIDE the curb waiting. With this kind of remark, few mins left for Vpower promo and on my way to work, i knew its no point arguing and waste my time on this kind of ppl. Really made my day and just wanted to vent it out. Thanks for reading.
  11. Hi guys, if u r in e Rush/Terios forum, kindly help post this msg there cos I wanna clarify with whoever I encounter today. I was driving along Thomson Rd just now and came to a stop @ traffic junction between Balestier Rd n Thomson Rd, in front of Thomson Medical Center. I was on e 2nd lane from e left, waiting for e traffic light to turn green. A white Rush/Terios with loud music on was on e 3rd lane just beside my car on e right. From what I see, there are 5 lanes @ e junction and which 2 lanes on e right is turning right lane, or can say 1 can turn or straight. And if u drive straight, there r 4 lanes for e cars to move into, so technically, if I'm on e 2nd lane, I should be driving into 2nd lane afterwards when light go green, right? Furthermore, extreme left lane has bus lane markings on e floor and when I drive straight, I'm still following e bus lane markings. I just don't understand why e Rush/Terios driver horn n flashes @ me... After that, I wanted to turn left up to PIE, so I signal left. I check all mirrors on e left n no sign of any car or bus, so I filter left into lane 1 on e left. Suddenly, this Rush/Terios driver horn n flashes @ me from e back again. Then I realise he's behind my car which his car wasn't there in e first place. I'm sorry if my driving was slow and hinder ya speeding to somewhere. Also, apologise as I'm driving a slow vehicle... Btw, I'm driving e SX4 just now...
  12. has anyone of you encountered incidents whereby u're heading toward the highway and you're on the most right lane then suddenly somoene without signalling cuts into your lane? well, its probably to be expected and thus considered a norm. But how about someone who cuts w/o signalling and then almost immediately w/o warning brake damn hard until stop on the right most lane of the road followed by a short wait then signal left back to their orginal lane becuz they wan go other direction. Nw picture that it was in the evening and the roads is quite packed, everybody going about 55+ and sudden brake. U managed to stop in time(almost touch) but thats not the end of it...the person behind you also stopped just in time so nvr lunga you then horning at either you or the driver in front of you not stereotyping or whatever. just that so happen it was a mid age aunty driving. So much for your relaxing drive home.
  13. Damn bloody pissed! was around 550pm. Was on my way home. traveled along Stevens road on right lane, reached junction at good wood park hotel. Saw a cyclist at the most right lane at junction and parallel stop with a car who signal right, and the cyclist position is able to spot the right signal. Green light, the cyclist move on and i thought he wanted to turn right too. Wrong! he wanna go straight and the car had to jam brake. Cyclist stop and allow the car to turn right. WTF! not over yet. I drove and slow down to his speed and realised he is a Caucasian, told him off "KEEP TO THE LEFT WILL YOU, IS DANGERS FOR YOU TO RIDE ON RIGHT LANE". guess what he said? "I WANNA TURN RIGHT IN FRONT! (turn right to wheel lock), I GONNA KICK YOU IN YOUR MOUTH". I have no idea why he said that. As I drove forward (cant stop as there was car behind me)and stop at Ion Orchard junction (red light) to wait for him to approach closer to snap his photo. He slow down. Bloody balless! This kind of Caucasian is really a pain in our ass here.
  14. Since there are people feeling stressed, I will share a comical / malu incident that happened to me. Hope others will be sporting enough to contribute too. Moi was walking through a basement carpark towards my car when I spotted a alighting from her car. I walked along trying to act when I tripped over one of those concrete blocks designed to stop a car from reversing too far. I found myself falling face first towards the ground but luckily I managed to break my fall by throwing my arms out. Unfortunately, I couldn't stop my momentum before I head butted the rear of a parked car (luckily it was a Jap model so the metal quite soft). Nevertheless, the impact stunned me enough to leave me sprawled on the ground. Through the haze of spinning stars and birds going tweet tweet, I saw the (and her Doppelganger) frozen to the spot, gawking at me with mouth wide open. She said something like "Oh no ..." while I staggered to my feet, waved that I'm OK , got into my car and drove off. Moral of the story? drivers are dangerous.
  15. We know that quite a number of cyclists have been in the news as of late, getting into accidents on the road, some of which have been fatal. I sympathize with them, myself having been a victim once when my bicycle got hit by a truck, flinging me off and breaking my right arm in the process. But as we say sometimes, it takes two hands to clap While i've had more than my fair share of encounters with cyclists with no sense near where i live (Ah Nehs cycling at nite, wearing black shirts, black shorts and riding black bicycles with no reflectors or lights whatsoever), my encounter today at Sims Ave in the Geylang area tops it all I was driving eastward from Kallang to Bedok via Sims Ave. The junction ahead was green in my favor and i was in the second lane. There was a van in the first lane about one car length in front. Suddenly, out of nowhere, this bicycle pops out from in front of the van and cycles diagonally AGAINST THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC. I had to step on my brakes to avoid hitting him, which luckily i did not. Here's a very simple picture to show this epic stupidity
  16. Hop into this comfort cab. the first impression of the cabby is quite beng as he has ear rings all over his ears. To make my journey less boring, i started a conversation with him about singapore traffice and COE prices etc and slowing got to know if also "play" car. infact, he drives a evo8 with 400 bhp. he also told me what are performance cars he owned before from EK4 (0-100 less than 5 sec) to his current evo. by the time i reach my destination, he said thank you to me for picking up a customer who is also into car stuff.......
  17. Today went to workshop to change my brake pads while waiting for them to complete the job. One Hafei driver came in n asking the workshop staff whether do they have BREMBO brake pads & rotors & Pontenza tyres for his car. Nearly fall off my chair when i heard that. I noe i m veri bad but juz can't tahan.
  18. I know this is not lite and ez but i am super psst off by this particular lady driver in an old mit lancer (scn2*75b) at PIE towards jurong bukit batok exit... I was exiting and suddenly she wan to change lane out, i was too kind hearted as not to blast my horn at her but she stare at me after passing by me... i juz dun understand y ppl like her dun even know how to look at mirrors when i'm clearly already beside her with my left signal on, still wan to change lane out to the right... think she owns the road or owns the exit??? if u are reading this lady, pls wake up ur idea and stop showing ur face to others when u are not chiobu or rather auntie...
  19. Hi all, Since no specific discussion on this, I would like to start one here. By the way, please try not to "blow cow" here ok, for the benefit of other travellers . The strangest ecounter I had, was when I travelled to Ipoh. There are only 3 "can make it" hotels in Ipoh town. Due to last minute arrangement, the better ones are fully booked, I ended up with one whose lobby had strong tabacco smell . The given room was really old-style in furnishing and some sort of mouldy smell from the air-con too. Too exhausted and we were soon deep in sleep. Into the wee hours, I suddently realized my young son (probably 2~3 years old then) who was sleeping beside me had disappeared. I woke up and found him talking to the wall right at the corner. I shouted at him from the bed asked him to come back to bed. He stood there for a moment and seem to bid farewell (waving hands) to someone. He finally returned to the bed and I hugged him and fall asleep. I told my wife about the incident the next day morning. She told me she saw something "dirty" that night but she insisted she won't tell me what it is. Till today, it remains a mystery to me. Regards,
  20. My car is encountering this issue after changing exhaust pipe, just the muffler. First owner mods his car if i am not wrong. With this code, i googled and it was O2 sensor related. My friend use the iOBD scanner and resetted the code for me, but still no use. Anyone got other suggestion. He told me can reset the ECU too but i havent try that yet.

  22. Hi guys, Just wanna share with you all on my pleasurable road encounter today... I was on my way to Seletar camp via CTE this am around 0745 (am currently on reservist)... At the Orchard entrance, this yellow Cooper S entered the Expressway.... The lady driver was really gorgeous... Her windows were wound down and her hair was like wow.... flowing in the wind like some scenes out of a movie..... She filtered out to the extreme right lane and was behind me.. (Haha I purposely slowed down a little so I could catch a glimpse of her in my rear view mirror....) Guess what... her companion was a lady too and my god... they were both gorgeous.... Ha.. so much so for ICT... it really helps to have such eye candies early in the morn... she tailed me till I exited at Seletar Camp.... And the best part... when I filtered out she overtook me and her lady passenger turned and smiled... (dunno why she did that but it was really flattering ha!!) Too bad she's behind... I didn't get a good look at her number plate... Its SJB something... yellow Mini Cooper S.... cheers
  23. as above......lol.... i am very polite in person but just askin for fun....lol
