  1. Hi all, May urge every MCF members here to educate their friends, colleagues, kids, relatives, spouse, in-laws, etc when come to opening car doors. Kindly tell them to open slowly and not to hit their doors onto the cars parked beside them. This is really an act of being considerate and civilised, and such values should start from simple acts such as this. Many car owners suffers unnecessary dents, dings, scuffs, scratches, etc all because of inconsiderate people when opening their car doors. It is not difficult to open slowly and avoid banging their doors onto the car parked beside. If everyone can do this mindfully, our driving stress will cut down a notch because we know we have considerate drivers around us who will take care of our parking environment. Thanks and please spread the word.
  2. Can something be done to those pedestrains who are crossing the junction when the 'blinking seconds' read only 6 seconds left and they are still only reaching the junction. Before you now, they double up their steps and as a driver, had to wait for him/her to cross. Surely, the pedestrain should know that they could not make it accross the road in 6 seconds. Certain junction have a very fast signal and the moment the 'red man appear', its turn amber and 'Red' light immediately and only 1 vehilce able to make the right turn. Wonder how many drivers get caught like me and get inside. This happen to me at the 'T' junction of TP Lor 6 and Braddell Road. Pedestrains would just walk even the 'blinking second' showing only 6 sec left and those turning right to Bradell Road would get caught and wait fot the next traffic signal. Only 1 car able to turn and traffic light turn 'Green' for Bradell Road cars and they are coming in fast, turning right to Lor 4 TP.
  3. FOR 50 years, the PAP has stayed in power because it has delivered progress to the people, its leaders often point out. But Law Minister K. Shanmugam feels younger voters can erode its dominant position should the party fail to convince them that Singapore, more than most countries, needs a strong leadership and a political system that allows for effective and speedy decisions to be made. He gave this warning to his party members in an editorial in the latest People's Action Party bi-monthly magazine, Petir. Mr Shanmugam appears to have his eye on the clock when he issued his word of caution, saying no political party had stayed in power continuously for more than 70 years. The way for the PAP to outlive this record, he feels, is to provide greater political education for Singaporeans, in particular, students. However, he said: 'The education should not trumpet the virtues of any particular system.' Seems like PAP is scared..
