Hi All, Realised many fellow ICE bros here with signature saying they using HU with ALPINE PXA-H701. With my limited knowledge, understand that PXA-H701 is a processor right? Assuming if I am using a Kenwood HU, and I wanna install this processor, do I need the controller unit (RUX-C701) as well ? Heard that HU like Apline CDA-9856/9857 can be controller to PXA-H701, true ? Thanks in advance for any enlightenment. Cheers

Went down to 2 audio shops in Alexandar on Fri 3 Oct 2008. 1 shop quoted H701 + C701 for S$1250, due to low stocks. The other shop more friendly, told me to forget it as supplier no more stock. Check crutchfield.com, it lists H701 as discontinued. In other forums, there is also talk of H701 as being discontinued. I am in the market for H701+C701. What should I do? There seems to be no replacement for H701, not from Alpine nor other mfg. Do I really have to fork out a 25% premium for the low-stock status? (I've SPDIF digital from carputer to H701 to amp, so if H701 is not there, my whole setup breaks down).

Hi Bros out there, Anyone encounter aeroplane sound when using 701 processor? I've jus installed mine and encountered it instantly. i greatly suspected it's cabling problem, but my installer claimed that installing 701 mostly may lead to aeroplane sound(which i strongly disagree). He challenged me to enquire in forums, still saying that it's a known factor in I.C.E. . but I find it's bullshxt. Who will want to install 701 if it mostly will give aero sound. anyone can confirm for me? -
Hi, anyone can advise whether we are able to connect the digital out from Pioneer's 6850 into Alpine's H701 processor...? from what i heard is that their digital connectors are different types, and are impossible to connect them up... has anyone ever DIY this before...?

Hi bros out there, there is a seller selling a 2 year old Alpine H701 and C701, what do you think is a reasonable price to buy this combo at? According to seller, condition is good. Waiting for you guys comments.

Saw this 2 DIN DVD player with 24bit DVD/CD/MP3 player with very nice LCD display. Thought it'll be a great combo for those with 2 DIN. Coupled with PXA-H701 Multimedia Manager (31 band graphic equaliser) with TA, and it should be like a premium Pioneer P90 set with DVD! Of course, I heard Pioneer's coming up with a P80 HU that should be cheaper than a P90 but with ability to play MP3/WMA whilst using Burr Brown D/A convertor.
