Let's face it, besides cyclists, motorcyclists are the next 'most vulnerable' on our roads. Unlike cars, motorcyclists deal with a higher amount of risks, such as the risk of losing balance and skidding. Watch this video to see how simple road debris could easily endanger a motorcyclist's life: What Happened? It seems like any other day on the PIE - The traffic was moderate, roads were dry, and the weather was great, with ample visibility for motorists to have a clear sight ahead of them. As the cam car travelled along lane 1, two motorcyclists passed him by lane-splitting between lanes 1 and 2. Here's where a keen observation is required: After the first motorcyclist travelled quite a distance from the cam car, he was observed to have performed a subtle evasion manoeuvre to avoid a piece of debris in between lanes 1 and 2. The second motorcyclist passes the cam car just then, and he is not so fortunate as the motorcyclist before him. The Fall As he could not spot the debris and react accordingly, he ran over it at high speed, which caused his motorcycle to jerk up mid-air. Upon landing on his front wheel, the motorcyclist lost control of his motorcycle, which caused him to swerve left and right before falling hard. Due to the impact, the motorcyclist ended up rolling quite a distance while his motorcycle skidded for a good 100-150 metres. The Weird Part Here's the part where I find it weirdly coincidental. Towards the end of the video, two cars are observed to have stopped along the road shoulder in the vicinity of the road debris. Here are two possible reasons as to why they were there: 1. The piece of debris was from either car. 2. This is the more likely reason - Similar to the motorcyclist, both these cars were victims of the road debris and ran over it as well. Most cars today has rather huge openings and lack of a protective mesh to deflect small stones and debris away from the radiator. Often causing damage to the radiator fins. Although these damages are cosmetic rather than detrimental, it is always good to maintain a clean and good looking car, and not to mention those unsightly dented fins on those shinny radiators. Here is a DIY video on how to remove a car bumper and installing a mesh to protect your radiator. Cost of mesh is couple of dollars from most Handy-shops or DIY stores. Most cars manufacturer uses similar methods on mounting their bumpers, so the video is as detail as possible without causing boredom to you. Hope you all benefit from it. Despite being in pain, the Hangzhou native was able to bring the bus to a halt on the side of the expressway before he attempted to tend to his injuries. Unfortunately, Wu succumbed to his injuries in the hospital four days later. STOMPer Ai Zhu Guo wrote in, hoping to showcase a side of Chinese citizens not commonly seen around here: "I hope to share with STOMPers a recent news of how a bus driver stopped the bus he was driving to save his passengers despite being seriously hurt by a flying piece of metal sheet/rod. "Sadly, the heroic bus driver passed away in the hospital. "I hope this will show that there are good people in China too."

I am saying this because I nearly gotten into an accident because of debris. I was travelling on AYE on Monday night. There is this piece of large wooden board on the lane 2 (no idea who drop it). A car in front of me (around 20m) went over it and the board broke into pieces and 1 of them flew towards my car. Luckily I quickly brake and the board hit my bumper. If it hits my windscreen and smash it.... I jialat already...

I just got hit by a flying pebble (I think) on my Aveo while I was criusing along ECP this morning! Now there is a 2cm long cross (X) near to my rear-view mirror. Should I get it repaired or the windscreen changed? Does anyone know the cost? If I change the windscreen, does anyone know how much does it cost to replace the Huper Optiks film on the front windscreen...?
