It is certainly more aggressively styled than the outgoing A3 and features slimmer front headlights, the usual Audi grille and large airducts under each headlight. The car is basically styled in line with the current styling philosophy of Audi. While this is good for an entry level car and better than the outgoing A3, it looks too much like the A4, the A6 or the A8 from the front. It is alright to look like the car belongs to the same DNA, but if there styling cues are too similar; it tends to get a little tedious to look at. I mean if you upgraded from an A4 to an A6, would anyone notice?
So what do I think about the looks of the new Audi A3 then? Although it is styled too similar to any Audi across the range it is a very handsome hatchback and as it would be the first Audi for most people, the styling would be spot on for them. I therefore conclude that this new Audi A3 is something I am actually looking forward to having a go in soon. And I also wonder how would the RS version of this little Audi will look, if and when Audi comes up with one.
