An all-new Audi A3 is scheduled to be launched at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show and since no one can keep a secret these days we have the official photos of the new hatchback Audi.

My first impression of the new Audi A3s external styling is that it must be a current model B8 Audi A4 with two less doors at the rear and a hatchback grafted onto it. It is a handsome little hatchback nonetheless as it does not have that slightly awkward look of the tiny Audi A1.

It is certainly more aggressively styled than the outgoing A3 and features slimmer front headlights, the usual Audi grille and large airducts under each headlight. The car is basically styled in line with the current styling philosophy of Audi. While this is good for an entry level car and better than the outgoing A3, it looks too much like the A4, the A6 or the A8 from the front. It is alright to look like the car belongs to the same DNA, but if there styling cues are too similar; it tends to get a little tedious to look at. I mean if you upgraded from an A4 to an A6, would anyone notice?

As for the interior I have been led to believe that Audi has basically taken the Audi A1 dashboard and added more salt, pepper and some oregano to the mix but it is still very Audi A1-like with some extra bling as well as the usual bits of new gadgetry here and there as with any new car launched these days . Of course by looking at the photos of the interior you can tell that the interior of the new Audi A3 looks well build and exemplary of any Audi these days quite a nice place to actually be in.

So what do I think about the looks of the new Audi A3 then? Although it is styled too similar to any Audi across the range it is a very handsome hatchback and as it would be the first Audi for most people, the styling would be spot on for them. I therefore conclude that this new Audi A3 is something I am actually looking forward to having a go in soon. And I also wonder how would the RS version of this little Audi will look, if and when Audi comes up with one.

It just looks like a bigger A1. And i hate the A1. Yucks!! Audi is now dangerously following their parent VW. The A3 and Q3 both look like bigger versions of the A1.
