Audi R8 V8 vs Porsche 911 Carrera 4S

Recently, British magazine Auto Express pit the Audi R8 against the new Porsche 911 on a race track. These two supercars are actually distant relatives considering that both brands are under the Volkswagen Group's umbrella.   The Audi R8 received a facelift in 2012 with the addition of a seven-speed S-tronic dual-clutch transmission that replaces the six-speed automated manual R-tronic. At the other corner, the all new Porsche 911 has a rich heritage that dates back to 1963 and has been acclai

Punch to Park

Local motorists had to get used to “policing” themselves 33 years ago when the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) instituted the coupon parking system. It required drivers to estimate how long they would be parked and display enough coupons for the duration.   To avoid being issued a summons by a patrolling enforcement officer meant going back to your vehicle before the coupons expired or displaying more coupons than actually needed.   To help motorists adapt to the new system, a three-mon

Highlights from Goodwood Festival of Speed

Here are some highlights from the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Cars which performed included, a Baja Truck, a two-wheeling Juke Nismo and a mad Nascar.   Our favourite is the Baja 1000 truck where it pleased the crowds with its tail-out antics. The spongy springs add to the spectacle. Patrick Friesacher's Toyota Camry NASCAR burnout was pretty entertaining too when his car caught fire. It was more of a smokeout than a burnout to us! Inside, it is fully stripped out and only has things necessary for it to be operated.   Built by THR Manufacturing, Volkswagen says tha
