BMW E34 and dashcam driver narrowly escape death with lightning-quick reflexes

A video of two drivers speeding and almost crashing to their deaths seems to be circulating on social media, Whatsapp groups and Telegram chats.

Here's the link to the 14-second video.

They almost died

In the video, you can see both the BMW and dashcam driver take evasive action to avoid a head-on collision with a stationary vehicle on lane 1 (rightmost lane).

If they had crashed, based on how fast they were going past other cars on the road, they would have died.

Online Chatter - Pro or lucky?

I'm not even sure whether to be horrified or impressed by the display of lightning quick reflexes in the video.

Netizens seem to be leaning more towards impressed.

Indeed. They are waiting.

This is one of the many hazards along expressway. Driver simply leave the car without any ideas of the safety of others. Where is the flashing Triangle sign to place a few car lengths at the rear to warn others? TP and LTA should spot check on cars for this safety signboard.

Good reactions, but this (from the cam car view) is exactly why you leave stability control fully on when driving on the road. It is likely the situation would've ended very differently without this driver aid active.

I know a few self-proclaimed "expert" drivers who claim to drive routinely on the roads without any stability aids on. I just smile and walk away. On a track where things are more controlled, you can do what you like, but on the road, it's a different set of priorities.

If you look at the E34's 3rd brake light, he was on the brakes several seconds before the swerve so he must have seen the parked car and planned somewhat in advance (maybe waiting for that 86/brz to clear).

  • 10 terrible wedding songs

A song can have a catchy title and/or chorus, but its true meaning is only found within its lyrics. If you're planning your wedding, any song about breakups, cheating/infidelity, and being the other woman has no business being part of the reception playlist. Most people, however, take the song title to be its meaning and don't consider its actual content. Here are 10 songs that sound romantic but should be avoided. 10) Irreplaceable – Beyoncé Don't mistake this for being

Challenging myself to a week without coffee or sweetened drinks

Sometimes, the key to spicing up your life can take a very simple and mundane form. Or in the case of a challenge I embarked on in early-July, a bland and literally tasteless one. Feeling sometime in mid-June that I had been swept up too mindlessly by the push-and-pull of the everyday, and seeing that I *had* to reclaim some sense of agency with the way I lived, I eventually decided: I would allow myself only water as a drink. I'm pretty sure Yakun and Toast Box lost a fair bit o

Doing the thing, minus the thing

You might have seen this viral clip on social media:  m2-res_480p.mp4 This might be one of the greatest, funniest things I've seen in quite a long while.  Put simply, its horse-racing, minus the horses.  And look, of course it's all a bit of fun (clearly a stunt to gain social media attention, but it also raised money for charity). I think it might be best described as 'doing the thing, minus the thing'. And we've seen plenty of gimmicky conceits (I for one am quite a sucker

This should be the true Singaporean national dish

Singapore is known to be a melting pot of different cultures, races, people and of course, cuisines from all over the world. You can probably find food from most places here in Singapore, but we also have some dishes that we like to think of as our national dish - okay, google says there isn't an officially declared national dish, but Chicken Rice is one of those that's often mentioned. Yes, we all love Chicken Rice, but it isn't really unique to Singapore.... Nasi Lem
