Lady stands in front of the parking lot to ‘chope’ for this Mitsubishi Lancer

TL;DR - This middle-aged woman was standing in front of a car park lot at AMK in an attempt to reserve the lot for a Mitsubishi Lancer.

If you didn't know, 'chope' basically means to reserve/declaring that its yours. Singaporeans often use tissue packets to 'chope' seats at free-seating areas such as hawker centres.

Watch this 36-second clip to see how this woman stood there to be a human tissue packet.

What happened?

This lady stood in front of a parking lot at AMK Hub so that her Mitsubishi Lancer could get the lot.

It was said that there were many empty lots around the mall, somehow this one in particular is the chosen one.

Also probably because it's the one nearest to the entrance of AMK Hub.

I guess Singaporeans no longer use tissue packets to 'chope', we now use our bodies...?

I wonder just how many times she has done this.

Takeaway

Please do not allow/ask your family and friends to hog the lots, especially not in this way. It is extremely dangerous as other vehicles may not see them standing there, which can lead to dire consequences.

Wait a little longer or make a few more rounds, you will find one soon - slow and steady wins the race!

Is she @Jamesc's MIL?

Did @Jamesc ask her to stand there to chope place but hoping that a no-care-less driver mow her down!? 😂

You try asking my MIL to do that lah.

I call ambulance for you.

  • Tennis: Beautiful game that doesn't know how to count

Wimbledon just concluded yesterday (congrats Sinner!), and it's a reminder of how much I enjoy tennis as a sport. I used to play it some (wasn't particularly good), and still tangentially follow it nowadays (the Roland Garros final this year between Alcaraz and Sinner is an all-time classic).  There's something intrinsically mesmerising about the sport, I think even for spectators who have never picked up a racquet. At first glance, it may seem like just two people (or four, but doubles is

How are we already in June?

During lunch with my mother a couple of weeks back over yong tau foo, I was asked about my opinion on the latest NDP song. And of course, as expected of any chronically insular millennial, my reaction was: “Huh? There’s a new NDP song?” But of course there is. And I say this not to disparage the wonderful songwriters and musicians that provide an anthem to remember the nation’s birthday by annually, but to knock into my own mind the harsh reality: We’re already in mid-June.  It fe

23 years on, Infernal Affairs remains the best gangster movie I've watched

TL;DR It's over two decades old, but Infernal Affairs remains THE gangster trilogy. *SPOILERS AHEAD* *SPOILERS AHEAD* *SPOILERS AHEAD* The Hong Kong Police and a triad have placed moles in each other's ranks. Tony Leung is Chan Wing Yan, an undercover cop desperate to leave his assignment. The antagonist is Senior Inspector Lau Kin Ming (Andy Lau), a decorated policeman who is actually a mole for Hon Sam (Eric Tsang), a triad boss. It's a game of cat-and-mouse, with poli

A 20-year journey, an old passion rekindled

For us 90s babies, the Holy Trinity of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network formed a big part of our childhood. The internet was just about coming into fruition, with the rise of a plethora of websites with numerous entertaining flash games and of course, the early days of YouTube. And though those things have come and gone, one thing in my life remained constant: My love for Pokemon. I first got into Pokemon 20 years ago, and I remember exactly how it went down. Let me set the
