According to a report from Autocar , Honda is rumored to be working on a CR-Z that ditches its conventional hybrid powertrain in favor of a small-displacement, turbocharged mill.

The proposed new engine is an all-new 1.6-liter unit that will produce around 160 horsepower. Autocar states that a higher-output CR-Z Type R may follow shortly thereafter, rumored to produce around 200 hp. This new powerplant is reportedly slated for use in the Honda Jazz (Fit), Civic and Accord, and could provide the basis for the next-generation Civic Si engine. Like many European B and C segment cars, the next Fit and Civic are also moving to smaller displacement, forced induction powertrains to offset increasing emission standards.

Sales of the hybrid CR-Z have started to fade in Honda's home market, despite the hatch being named the Japanese Car of the Year. Honda hopes that a turbocharged CR-Z would broaden the vehicle's appeal in other key markets, as well, such as the United States and Europe. The 1.6 liter Turbo powered CR-Z will ensure that Honda have an answer to the Scirroco and the upcoming Hyundai Veloster.

You'll need a rear view camera as you won't be able to see anything through the rear view mirror

you sat on a CR-Z to confirm? I think should be so bad bah...perhaps like the scirocco?

But 1.6 Turbo??? I always thought Honda is NA only but I guess competition is too fierce.

but a 160bhp for a 1.6 engine is rather disappointing.....Nissan Juke is already higher, not to mention the Mini Cooper S. Even Mit's Colt Version R can get 163bhp for a 1.5 Turbo and the Scirrocco's TSi even better at 160 for a 1.4l.

Hope the final figure would be higher.

Anyway take it with a pinch of salt. From wat I gathered, this come from only 1 source and fans are speculating it to be just another rumor for CR-Z.

One mention "Honda was never a follower, they are the innovator."

Turbo on Honda? I'll wait till it's official to believe..

  • A 20-year journey, an old passion rekindled

For us 90s babies, the Holy Trinity of Disney Channel, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network formed a big part of our childhood. The internet was just about coming into fruition, with the rise of a plethora of websites with numerous entertaining flash games and of course, the early days of YouTube. And though those things have come and gone, one thing in my life remained constant: My love for Pokemon. I first got into Pokemon 20 years ago, and I remember exactly how it went down. Germany is weird, too

As we've previously established and regularly highlighted, Japan is pretty weird.  And as it turns out, Germany's kinda weird, too:  m2-res_720p.mp4 The above video has been making its rounds on social media, and the simplest description of it is that it's a game where they are trying to cut an object (here, a pretzel) EXACTLY in half. It's pretty amazing that the person actually succeeds, but the fact that this is a game at all (on TV, no less) is fascinating.  Schlag d

Less caffeine leads to more dreams

There's nothing like a double espresso to kickstart your morning, especially if it's extracted from medium- or dark-roasted beans. What a tasty way to begin the day. I enjoy coffee, but I'm not a caffeine addict so it's not a must for me to consume. In fact, lately, I've only been drinking it once or twice a week - doing this ensures that when I do drink it (to power my way through a hectic day), the caffeine kick will be well and truly felt. I did not stop drinking coffee thrice a day
