Thought the category is set by time and not years. Like before 70s are classic and 60s are vintage, cannot really remember the era. Care to share

It doesn't pop out of gear.. It seems that the shift cable is slightly slower than the transmission...

I never know that engine mounts will affect the shifting. But I do have stiff engine mounts.

I live in cold weather, so cannot go too lightweight on transmission oil. Next time I'll try Motul, everyone says it is the best. MT-90 is abit thick, but high quality.

Motul is really good. if it doesnt work with that, give lightweight shockproof a go. it says lighweight but even the superlightweight is heavier than the MT90 and motul when warm [:p] A lot of us in the performance car scene swear by it (but as i said gearshifts may feel notchy when cold).

You won't feel the effect of stiffer engine and g/box mounts until higher rpms, and the downside is that the car vibrates more, but i figure its a good tradeoff for me.

Shift cable... hmmz i assumed all newer cars had hydraulic systems... maybe the cable is loose?? check its tension.

No one knows? What about gear oil called 'prodrive' used by subarus? Is it from shell and is the ratings similar? Can I get them in small quantities for my servicing?

Thanks
