  5. Hi all, I bought a second hand Kia Cerato V2 manual transmission about a year ago. Generally very satisfied with the car however whenever the car is stucked in a heavy jam under hot sun, i tend to experience the clutch pedal to be gradually harder and harder to be depressed ( to a point it feels like racing clutch). However after i cleared the jam and travelled for about 15mins the clutch feel will be back to normal. Wondering if any other bros experienced such issues before. My previous kelisa and vios manual transmission did not experience such issues before. Looking forward to kind inputs and suggestions. Cheers.
  6. Hi guys, recently have noticed some niggling problem ( minor clutch slipping, slower pickup, biting point of clutch has gradually shifted higher up )with the clutch and thought that it is high time to do something abt it... Just have some questions to ponder Will most likely need to replace something to do with the clutch but wat parts of the clutch to get? Intend to get the parts from Ric-tat (Toyota stockist ) but not too sure wat to tell them in case they were to ask me Quite embarassing to end up tongue tied Any pointers from the Lao Jiaos?
  7. Hopefully you guys can post this in the maintenance and repair section I have a 2013 manual Honda Accord. Yesterday I was driving it and all of a sudden the clutch went soft and now the pedal is stuck to the floor. The clutch fluid reservoir is still full. My mechanic told me it is probably the clutch master cylinder. My problem is that right now I don't have enough money to pay my mechanic to fix it. I drive for UBER for a living so I need my car working in order to make money. So I have a couple questions. First, do you agree with my mechanic that the problem is most likely the master cylinder? Secondly, I have not worked on cars much and have only done simple things myself. So I was wondering if replacing the master cylinder is a task that I should attempt to take on myself?
  8. Hi, Im new here and in the world of cars(I passed driving school 3 months ago). I took my granpas Seat Cordoba 1.4 petrol with 75HP. Its first petrol car i have driven and somethings weird. When I press throtle a bit more than usual its like it goes to neutral, rpm is going up but speed is going down and it goes like that for a 2-3 seconds. Why could that be? P.S. Im driving my mothers Corsa c 1.7 DI and fathers Peugeot 406 2.0 HDI and they drive normally. This thing happens only on that seat and only for me.

    Audi A3 2017

  10. I'm driving a swift sport zc31 manual. My clutch slip when I accelerate over 3k rpm. The acceleration comes in after a delay of about 2sec. When I floor, the Rpm will rise like it's in neutral gear and then will go down and accelerate the speed. I just changed a recon gearbox and new clutch kit 2 mths ago. Went back to the workshop and they told me it's normal cuz I changed a normal clutch, if I change a racing clutch then won't have this problem. Anyone can help on this?

  15. as with all hydralic pumps, there is a certain threshold before the pump is no longer good or efficient. i wonder, with the clutch hydralic pumps that are attached to the pedal, there is a primary clutch pump and a secondary clutch pump. How may pumps (as in how many time you depress the clutch pedal) is the pump good for before it is time to replace? Anyone ever measured? or is the info found on any specs that we can read from?
  16. Hi, can anyone recommend me a workshop to replace my clutch? I already have clutch. I was quoted $800 for installation. Sigh.
  17. Dear MCFers, the clutch pedal on my getz got disintegrated, as such, the contact point of my left leg is with the bare metal clutch. Is there any where that i can order the spare parts for it? Would stockist carry it? regards.
  18. Hi, I'm driving a Nissan Sunny Manual. Recently i start feeling my clutch, brake and pedal vibrating when i'm driving. The faster i go, the vibrating gets stronger. The vibration feels like the engine is rubbing against the pedals. I suspect could be the engine mounting, but i don't feel must vibratin on my steering wheels yet. What could be the problem ? Thanks.
  19. Hi bros, I am looking for a used Getz 1.1M recently and have been browsing through the ads in sgcarmart. I notice several cars have sports pedals installed for brake and accelerator but not for the clutch. It's strange.....until I went for a test drive today and the car also had 2 sports pedals installed only. Clutch pedal was with the stock black rubber. So it's too much of a coincidence. When I test drive the car, I realised the biting point for the clutch is way too high...very difficult to drive especially in the 1st gear. Is this the norm for all Getz manual? The salesman said it can be easily adjusted but when I did a search online it seemed to suggest that the clutch in Getz is hydraulic one and the biting point cannot be adjusted. Only the freeplay can be adjusted and that is minimal. High biting point = clutch worn?? Any bros can advise? Thanks very much!
  20. It is evident that many automakers nowadays feature automated-manual transmissions (that usually comes with a paddle shifter) in their performance cars. In other words, these automated-manual transmissions with paddle shifters are the in-thing now. Every technology in our lives are ever changing and getting replaced with new and better ones and will paddle shifting transmissions replace manual ones and even conventional auto gearboxes totally? I have asked the above mentioned question to several car owners; both performance and ordinary car owners and they are in their 20s up to 40s (age range). Below are their opinions. Many felt that manual transmissions will still be the choice of hardcore drivers who prefer the shift stick and clutch pedal combination. It would be hard to remove the manual stick and clutch pedal feeling from them. And there are some who believe that these automated-manual (or dual clutch) transmissions will sit well in between conventional automatic transmissions drivers and sports-orientated drivers. In a way, it is probably ideal for drivers who have problems with the stick and clutch pedal combination or drivers who are simply can
  21. Hi to all, I would liked to find out does conventional 4 speed auto have startup clutch like the ones found in CVT?
  22. Recently, notice it is harder to engage gear, especially 1 & reverse. I have already replaced the gearbox oil last servicing. Is it time to replace to whole clutch assy? My ride is 6yr old ~80k+ mileage. Thanks
  23. My clutch pedal will give off a 'squeaky' sound whenever I press it. The sound is more obvious especially if I half clutch and clutch in again, i.e whenever I am stuck in a jam. Since mine is a hydraulic clutch, I checked the fluid level and there is no leak or whatsoever. Besides this problem, the clutch still feels the same and gear engagement is still okie. ANyone had this problem before?
  24. 1. Oil light came on. Check engine oil level and the engine oil level is OK. So not due to oil running low. 2, Oil light came on and persist. So took car to a workshop in Ubi for repair. 3. Mechanic jacked up car ....found oil sump leaking....gasket failed. So need to remove oil sump for new gasket and sealant. And need to change oil pressure switch. So left car at the workshop for repair, includes Engine Oil change service and to collect in the evening. Boss of workshop sms later: Hi Sir, tis is from the Workshop. Our man is checking through the car during servicing n find your clutch wearing out soon. Based on the wear rate, the vehicle milage should be approximately 140-150K. THe clutch pedal is giving quite a bit of squeaking sound as a result. Would U like to replace it? Thks. Is it possible to see the clutch disc or plate worn out through the oil sump removal and through the Flywheel?
