Tehtarik69 Neutral Newbie July 20, 2006 Share July 20, 2006 The rubber backing is for wood & metal. Sorry I called Emily and she verified. They do not have the white foam backing replacement in stock but will accept orders which will take 3-4mths to arrive. Was quoted $28.50 by Emily but I believe can get cheaper if order more. 1) Has anyone used the rubber backing before? 2) Otherwise I like to find out if anyone else would be interested to combine order for this purchase? Need advise from the pros. Please help...

Boring Neutral Newbie July 22, 2006 Share July 22, 2006 This is the 1st time I'm using the 270 on my friends Colt. 1. IP with light cutting pad 2. FP with polishing pad 3. FK1 2180 4. OCW Here's the results. Still have some defects I can't remove. Need a more agressive pad.
Tehtarik69 Neutral Newbie July 24, 2006 Share July 24, 2006 Siew, Siew! But you are hijacking the thread. I need to pool enought buyers for the Bosch 270 backing plate replacement to get a discount from the agent(you are on the list). Also do not have enough postings to start a new thread. BTW what pads are you using? Do you have my probs?? http://www.mycarforum.com/forum/Aftermarke...o_use_P1393871/ Will keep in touch regarding the 270 plate replacement. Boring Neutral Newbie July 25, 2006 Share July 25, 2006 I got my pads from Gen2, they look like propel V2 pads to me. I don't really press hard, so far no problem with the 270 yet. But the vibrations is quite serious on your hands when you go to speed
Swishbrade Neutral Newbie September 21, 2006 Share September 21, 2006 Yo Bro Gen2 I just did a apple-to-apple comparison between the PC and the Bosch. The PC's power is converted from 3.7amps and 120VAC to 444 watts , the Bosch only rates at 270 watts The PC is super heavy at 2.6kg while the Bosch is light at 1.4kg . If a person doesnt mind the additional weight, may I ask what DA would you recommend (which can be purchased easily from shops in Singapore) to achieve the power of 444 watts? Of course if you can, please also consider weight and cost. I'm looking to upgrade my DA and am interested in one which has more power and a speed control for removing paint surface imperfections. Please advise. Thanks
Gen2 Neutral Newbie September 22, 2006 Share September 22, 2006 Alternatively you can consider Rupes BR 65 AE, more powerful with speed control but heavier and noisier than Bosch.
Aiky Neutral Newbie September 22, 2006 Share September 22, 2006 How much is a Rupes? and where can I get it? Feel like getting one of these DA.
Gen2 Neutral Newbie September 22, 2006 Share September 22, 2006 You can refer to this web site, http://www.tonita.com.sg/index.cfm?GPID=96 and I believe it should be selling around $470.00 with GST.
Aiky Neutral Newbie September 22, 2006 Share September 22, 2006 I heard the Rupes roar before. But $470 is really a lot as compared to the Bosch.
Biccat Neutral Newbie September 22, 2006 Share September 22, 2006 You may want to consider the Ryobi - $145 or Metabo - $
