Swishbrade Neutral Newbie September 30, 2006 Share September 30, 2006 You can refer to this web site, http://www.tonita.com.sg/index.cfm?GPID=96 and I believe it should be selling around $470.00 with GST. Thanks for your reply bro Gen2. I will go check it out!
Andromeda2000 Neutral Newbie September 30, 2006 Share September 30, 2006 (edited) Is it possible to attach a polishing pad to a portable drill and use it to polish my car? Edited September 30, 2006 by Andromeda2000
Number19 Neutral Newbie October 1, 2006 Share October 1, 2006 Then you would get a rotary (single direction) The machines being discussed in this thread are dual action machine polishers which are newbie friendly. Rotary takes quite some skill and practise and there's always possibility of 'burning' the paint~
Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 8, 2006 Share October 8, 2006 just wondering if anyone know where to get the PC7424 (or the equivalent Megaire's G-100) in Singapore? price? is someone organising a MO to bring this in? :) thanks.
Garlic 1st Gear October 8, 2006 Author Share October 8, 2006 http://detailogy.com/product.php?cyid=1&cg...&promo=1&pid=50 S$350 for the machine alone, you will also need a step down transformer as it runs on 120V. At that price, I opt for a Makita or Rupes rotary anytime.
Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 8, 2006 Share October 8, 2006 thanks for the advice. will probably get the Bosch one then. :)
Number19 Neutral Newbie October 8, 2006 Share October 8, 2006 Saw a Makita rotary for sale when I passed by Sungei Rd. No idea about the price and condition though
Number19 Neutral Newbie October 8, 2006 Share October 8, 2006 Yeah do take note you need to get the step down transformer (additional cost) for use in SG, the power ratings are different from US. I've tried my hand on the PC before though
Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 10, 2006 Share October 10, 2006 I'm also using the GEX 270AE :) It's the best for the budget of under $200. I use sealents only every 2 months. Considering my usage pattern, it does not make sense to spend much more for such a machine. Besides, BOSCH is already a good machine to start off with. Unless u are a pro detailer running a detailing business or you will be using the machine every week which is abit execessive... The Bosch is fine :) Cheers hi bro, wat's the best way to remove the sealants (i have 3 layers of Klasse SG+ a couple more layers of wax) before polishing? or is this step necessary? i am a novice. pls bear with me. thanks. Wishsing Neutral Newbie October 11, 2006 Share October 11, 2006 :) Bro Maddriver is helping me save money. thanks all for the advice. just one last confirmation. is the following steps correct for me (since i already have a few layers of Klasse AIO+SG+ WAX): 1. Remove Wax/Sealants using either MamaLemon OR AIO 2. Machine Polish using Bosch GEX270 with PreWax Cleaner (any recommendation on the polish? i only have very light swirl marks) 3. Seal again 4. Wax again thanks for the patience.
Garlic 1st Gear October 11, 2006 Author Share October 11, 2006 A claybar, polish or chemical cleaner will be able to give you a squeaky clean surface. Leave mama lemon for the dishes, even Autopians advise against it.
Garlic 1st Gear October 11, 2006 Author Share October 11, 2006 (edited) If you have light to medium swirls, Menzerna PO106FF with a polishing pad will work wonders. Menzerna products produces dust and can be a little tricky to use, however the surface its able to create is . If you are looking for a product with no dusting, then I recommend either Meguiar's #80 Speedglaze or Optimum Polish. However like what I mentioned earlier on, Menzerna is still my product of choice. You can go straight to the LSP after claying and polishing, no prewax cleaner is required. If you are thinking of a sealant + carnauba combo, I strongly recommend letting the sealant cure before topping it with carnauba.
