Getz 1.1 query

hi...

why do u wan to choose Getz' 1.1 M? Do u have consider picanto before? as i know the engine is same somemore the interior of picanto is nice and smooth..

The reason i consider GETZ 1.1 is because spacious than picanto

imho, worth considering.

 

Picanto has the same engine block, but different gear ratios and has smaller throttle body and air intake. hence, getz has a little more power. initial acceleration of getz might be better, tho picanto wins for century sprint. however, both suck la..

 

i actually preferred picanto, but sponsor gave me "upgrade". so like tt lor.

 

bear in mind that getz is lacking in several areas, power window switch in center, very hard to press. picanto has better design in this area

 

wiper does not have intermittent setting, while pica has variable intermittent setting

i'm going for Getz 1.6(A) which look exactly the same as Getz 1.1 but price

different by 3k . Intially was supposed to be 1.1(M)

 

Better engine,eletrical side mirror,power window, ABS and of course i get to drive Auto

 

Was it a fair deal?

the initial cost isn't the issue. the road tax is.. i'd say go for it!

For 3k price difference, go for the 1.6(A).. just as long as u are comfortable with the higher running costs due to road tax and FC.

Does the Getz 1.1M comes with sound clad and tuff kote as a standard package or need to get as freebie from SE?

Trust me, get the 1.6A. The drive is totally different from the 1.1M. Its WAY more powerful and the 1.6A Getz can let many other 1.6A Jap saloons on the street now smell smoke .

 

As for the road tax, oso not much difference. Only bout SGD$400/yr more. FC is only very very slightly more than the 1.1M.

I dun agree tat 1.6A Getz is as "powerful" as u have describe.... drove my pal 1.6A from Bt Panjang to Tuas b4.... i dun see it has such "cutting edge" over any other 1.6A in the market....

 

not to forget the high FC of 1.6A.

Hi Bro Manz,

I think the 1.6 manual is still the 2 door version. Alternatively is the Verna/Rio which has a 1.6 MT version.

 

Almost got that but 2 door not really practical for family requirements.

Hi, actually I am only looking at a budget car for point A to B. Getz 1.1 serves my purpose as its roomy enough as compare to picanto and kelisa.Boot space is also acceptable. Power wise I think not an issue as I am used to driving Vans that is restricted to the left lane, althought that is few years back. If power,speed and time or cheap/free parking is required for that day, I have my backup 1100cc bike. .

By the way, from my house to workplaces, 50% of the journey is Jam and traffic light.

Hi, since the Getz 1.1M have the capabilities of sitting 5 adults but many said its underpowered, will the car be able to move with 5 passenger? Can it manage to climb up carpark in Nee Ann city, berlington square or Vivo city with 5 passengers?

can leh.. even genting and camerons will be ok.

 

but u need to exercise a bit more patience!

 

btw, 1.1 getz gearing is pretty low. if u try it u'll know wad i mean. initial pickup is much faster than one wud expect for a 1.1 with heavy body. but once u hit 3rd gear, the lack of power becomes more obvious

Only those 3 colours left? Silver easy to maintain but dull looking, Sky blue a bit too feminine. Red is not bad but scratches easy to see...

 

I'm driving an Ebony black 1.4A... Hard to maintain but nice and sporty... See my avatar...

Getz 1.1M now costs $37.8K.

 

Proton Wira 1.3M costs $34.9K. Great value + super spacious.

 

Getz 1.1 weight of 970kg is same as Proton Wira's.

 

Or Perodua Kelisa 1.0M is also great value at $30.7K. Weighs only 800kg. Very nippy.

1.1, definately not as powerful, but on Singapore roads, is good, even in the North-South Highway in Malaysia, it is also acceptable at 110 to 130km/hr ...
