Redeel Neutral Newbie February 12, 2006 Share February 12, 2006 The fabric for the Getz 1.1 is standard. If you have seen it in the showroom, that's the one... If you have the brochure, it's the GL trim. eddie (90085584) ↡ Advertisement
Redeel Neutral Newbie February 12, 2006 Share February 12, 2006 Looks like your questions were answered... Getz 1.6 is the only one with ABS. But the suspension is definitely better, plus 14-inch rims too... eddie (90085584)
Vit4wd 1st Gear February 16, 2006 Share February 16, 2006 (edited) Another diff between Getz and Picanto is that Getz has an engine temperature gauge, while Picanto does not. Edited February 16, 2006 by Vit4wd
Rickster 5th Gear February 17, 2006 Share February 17, 2006 So I suppose a picanto is much more powerful than a Getz 1.1, considering the same engine and big difference in chassis weight. Been wanting to get the Getz...but if its really that bad...then no point liao. FC will also high like crazy & engine will be noisy.
Burgerdog Neutral Newbie February 17, 2006 Share February 17, 2006 i actually test drove both cars... prefer the response of the Picanto... and somehow the cabin space is more comfy in the Picanto. IMHO, i'd rather go for the Picanto... looks nicer too...
Redeel Neutral Newbie February 17, 2006 Share February 17, 2006 You should try both cars yourself... I have tried a Picanto before, it doesn't feel as good as driving the Getz. I prefer the gear shifting of the Getz much more... eddie (90085584)

Thermodynamics Neutral Newbie March 2, 2006 Share March 2, 2006 Getz more spacious inside. Car feels solid also. Heavier due to sound insulation and rigid body. Test drive both cars and you will immediately notice how quiet and refined a Getz will be. Some people also claim Getz insulation better than 1.6 civic. Dun believe? Try and hear it yourself. Spurman Supercharged March 4, 2006 Share March 4, 2006 Getz 1.1m FC is so so at 14.5-15.5km/ltr.. Quite a heavy car. Lacks a bit of power becoz its afterall 1.1.. Lacks pick-up, but smooth ride at speeds of 90km/hr, low noise too. Looks nice, cute, can modify here n there, add here n there. Overall a nice budget car, point A to B car, good for young adults, small family. One query now, let says, I bought the car at 40.5k last yr, COE ard 14.3k, and I intend to sell it away after 2yrs, how much do U think da car will be worth?? Vit4wd 1st Gear March 10, 2006 Share March 10, 2006 (edited) Hi,I'm the usually passive forum reader who does not contribute replies. But after reading the posts, just wanna make a fair statement for Komoco. I bought my 1.1 Getz at $35.5k. In fact, after I paid the deposit to buy at $37.5k (with that 7k drop that is being mentioned here) with 4 bids non-guaranteed coe, my SE informed me at price dropped by another 2k and he could log me in on that price. And I got the COE on 18 Jan - 1st bid, and i'm due to collect the car next week, before CNY - should have been in feb, but so happened another customer did not want to collect his car till march, so my SE offered it to me first. Gimmicks? You decide. I feel that my SE and his team (he's the sales leader) have helped me make informed choices - not at all the pushy types. I just spoke with a Komoco SE at Leng Kee. She said that those who booked the Getz 1.1M has NOT secured COE, and very likely they have to top up. ie. NO one has secured Getz 1.1M at S$35.5K. The lowest price for Getz 1.1M now is S$38.5K, but chances are geting the car at this price are slim. YOU have to pay S$41.5K to have a better chance in securing the car. Guaranteed COE price is S$43.5K. That gets you a Mustang in OZ. This is what I was told by the Komoco SE. Edited March 10, 2006 by Vit4wd
Rickster 5th Gear March 10, 2006 Share March 10, 2006 Yes man, agree with what you had mentioned. According to an SE whom i've spoken to at leng kee 3 weeks ago, he also told me the same thing...If i wanna book, minimum gotta place 39K to be safe. He say no point bidding for 35.5K as those who bidded at that price all cannot get and thus very likely to top up. Somehow I got this feeling that KIA and Hyundai dealers are only out to make use of our deposit to "finance" their operations @ 0% interest rate. At the end of the day, if we top up, they close an extra deal. If we decide to get back our money after 6 bids, they got an interest-free loan from us. Either way, they win 100% and we lose 100%. So I'm always very wary of "advertised price" from these sly korean car dealers. Usually people who are fooled into paying that price actually will end up paying more. Just look at the ridiculously low COE they bid for you. Just a word of caution as I once fell into such trap also.
Vit4wd 1st Gear March 10, 2006 Share March 10, 2006 (edited) That's why I am absolutely curious how MCF Forumer 'Desperatehw' got his Getz 1.1M at S$35.5K Is he telling the truth? Edited March 10, 2006 by Vit4wd
Redeel Neutral Newbie March 10, 2006 Share March 10, 2006 Let me clarify. Some customers did get their COE with a price of $35,500. That was during the $10,103 Cat A COE. However, all the rest who had that price during other biddings failed to secure the COE. So these customers who have got it at $35,500 were really lucky. eddie (90085584)
Nav14 6th Gear March 10, 2006 Share March 10, 2006 In January Komoco was very generous with its bidding. Those who who went for the max $7000 & later increased to $8000 got their cars. Komoco tightened up in their bidding from February onwards but quite a number who went for $7500 discount ($500 less than maximum) also got their cars. There are definitely buyers out there who got their Getz for $35k or $35.5k. Anyway Komoco has got one of the most screwed up and non-transparent pricing policies in the market. At the same bidding you can get buyers paying 2-3k more (even though booked on the same day)for the same car depending on how much discount they went for. ↡ Advertisement
