Skip Neutral Newbie February 9, 2006 Share February 9, 2006 Yes it can be done. I've done it on my previous car before, sprayed all the panels matt silver. You have to remove all the panels you want to spray, clean and sand them down lightly. Apply multiple thin layers instead of one thick layer, and let it bake in the sun till its completely dry before re-installing them on your dash. I didn't encounter any problem of peeling or cracking at all, only minor scratches here and there. They were still in good condition when i scrapped the car recently. Unfortunately I didn't take any pictures...
Skip Neutral Newbie February 9, 2006 Share February 9, 2006 Oh btw, if you want to achieve a matt finish, just lightly mist your final coat of paint over the surfaces, it will dry with a slightly rough texture and it will give you the matt look effect. Knightskid Clutched February 9, 2006 Author Share February 9, 2006 so, did u let it dry in-between each layer? or spray continuous multiple layers? And did u spray lacquer too?
Wbucket Clutched February 9, 2006 Share February 9, 2006 Use high-temp paints. That is what I intend to use.

Wbucket Clutched February 9, 2006 Share February 9, 2006 You have to wait for a while. Cause taking out dashboard is a big project. I intend to start with the center area where the gears and handbrake is first. Then slowly work my way up. Anyway, going to use high-temp black. It is matte black in nature and don't flake off easily.
