Thanks for the response. I too like the APV for the efficient use of space. At the moment, my heart leans toward the APV but my head tells me I should go with the Tajet because it's cheaper by an average of $1000 in yearly depreciation even after deducting the difference the their road tax! For the price the Trajet does give a lot more in terms of power, driveability, equipment and comfort. Its FC I think may be better comparing their pwer-to-weight ratio. Since you mentioned you bought the APV for 2 months, could you have also consider the Trajet then? Btw, I have already put down a deposit for an old model APV but prepared to lose it. :huh:

 

I have not tried the Trajet but actually the APV is not that bad though I won't say it's good either. I have been driving a 4 yr old for just about 2 months now and I feel that it served it's intended purpose rather well.

I use it to fetch 6 of my office staff to and from Jurong West & Tuas and they all commented it's quite comfortable. Power, I would say, is only enough for point A to B travel. Pickup from the lighs is no better than nearly all other vehicles but once you get up to 70kph it's quite OK. Going up Benjamin Sheares bridge is of course a bit of a challenge and crosswind is felt all the time. Consumption range from 8.5 km/l to 10 km/l depending on start stop driving and highway cruising.

I discounted the Wish and Carens as they both felt cramped but the APV's strong point is the feeling of space in the cabin.

Do consider the width of the car cos that affects passenger shoulder to shoulder sitting.

Will feel squeezy if the width is too narrow when sitting 3 adults.

Trajet-1840mm width.

Apv-1655mm width.

These are overall external dimensions. If you look inside, surprisingly both are quite close because the trajet installs the seats between the wheel wells whilst the Apv mounts the seats above the wheel wells. This is why I like the Apv for the efficient use of space. I think that 3 adults should be comfortable across the Apv, similar or even better than a large size saloon car.

Do consider the width of the car cos that affects passenger shoulder to shoulder sitting.

If you are looking for a 8 seater but do not intend to drive into Malaysia, can consider the Nissan NV200+6.

 

It can be registered to a private owner as it is classified as a GPV.

 

I just got one and it's nice. Runs on diesel. Turbocharged 1.5L engine.

Just checking if anyone here drives the APV if so do you follow the recommended 200/240 kpa Front and rear unladen and 240/300 kpa fully laden. I was thinking 300 kpa is like wow! will the tyre explode!

For me I put in 235/265 kpa with mostly 6 people on board.

Any sharing welcomed.

Anyone driving the APV and would like to exchange wheels. Mine are 205/60X16 and would like to swop for either 195/65X15 or back to original 185/70X14 also can.

No, it is still registered as a G plate with the 70km/h speed limit. But it is a practical vehicle to get around Singapore.

R u refering to the third row seating?If yes.u r right.

But for the second row,definitely trajet shoulder room is better when taking 3 adults.

Trajet interior width-1500mm.

Avp interior width-1380mm.

Hi, Hi, your pte plate NV200+6 cost how much on the road ?? ... i am quite keen as the cargo space when seats are folded down must be huge (due to van based design). Many thanks [:)]

Mine's registered to company but you can also register under yr name. I got it for $88K 2 mths back but I tink now oready went up.

 

The second row seats can only be folded forward or backward by abt 30 degrees. The third row seats cannot be folded down. All seats come with seat belts and also got rear aircon.

Thanks! I guess the 1.5 diesel turbo has more than enough power to keep pace with other cars / mpvs..?? I will to showroom to take a look [:)]

Suzuki APV is still the cheapest commercial van on the market and from my point of view APV is a family private car to offer your a comfortable mini van feel
