Clark75 Neutral Newbie February 28, 2006 Share February 28, 2006 Yah. Wanted to do it but the shop guy warned me that it is illegal and carries a $400 fine. So I did the traditional acrylic ones. Much cheaper anyway.
Chiqinhan 1st Gear February 28, 2006 Share February 28, 2006 which local shop got do number plate cheap?? preferably near bukit merah or alexandra. thks
Clark75 Neutral Newbie March 1, 2006 Share March 1, 2006 I can't remember exactly where it is or the shop's name. But I know it's around Lavender Street area. It costs around $20-26 for the plates (depending on design and colour). Usually, many of these shops don't do it themselves but get it from somewhere else (probably some wholesale manufacturers). Sorry, I don't know much about Bukit Merah or Alexandra area though. If you are willing to drive a bit, you'll find many shops at Serangoon area. Kingbowler Neutral Newbie March 1, 2006 Share March 1, 2006 moffiz is definitely the place to go... as the issue of legal or not, it really depend on the tp whather he wans or not. my bro-in-law was stop by tp and he has done his chrome no plate at moffiz as well, but to his surprise, the tp didnt book him for that, oni tell him that the letters n no r too close to each other. my fren check with lta n tp n found out that as well as it the matt silver type thn its ok..... but end of the day it all depend on uncle sam whether he on or not..... Bluecity Neutral Newbie March 1, 2006 Share March 1, 2006 Traditional acrylic, are you referring to those white numbers type? I don't see any mentioned about changing to chrome number under the LTA's modification guide website lah. Can any one confirmed.
Clark75 Neutral Newbie March 1, 2006 Share March 1, 2006 Yah, the white on black acrylic ones. They can do white boarders as well, but thickness is fixed I think. You are right, I too cannot find such information on LTA website.
Civic2004 Neutral Newbie March 1, 2006 Share March 1, 2006 http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onem...ence_plate.html Vehicle licence plates normally have white letters and figures on black background for both front and rear of a vehicle. However, if the vehicle licence plate is made of reflex reflecting material, the front licence plate will consist of black letters and figures on a white background, and the rear licence plate will consist of black letters and figures on a yellow background. Clark75 Neutral Newbie March 1, 2006 Share March 1, 2006 Thanks, great search! Now we just have to confirm how much the fine is if we decide to deviate from the guidelines.
