Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 (edited) sorry, i didn't asked abt FWD or RWD. Yes, 2WD would be a better choice coz I doubt in SIngapore you require a 4WD SUV coz we no longer stay in kampong area the highest slope that we goes are those MSCP. Rapan Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 no worries. will find out from STS. u're rt abt the 2WD vs our 'terrain' in spore. but i oso thinking og driving it up north to KL sometimes so u've seen the car in the showrm? how do u find it? the built quality & feel... i jus saw in the net & in ST sum days ago.... Jeffrey 1st Gear April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 (edited) The 2WD is a rear wheel drive; the engine is an in-line 4. This is a bit unusual, as the majority of small and mid-size vehicles nowadays are front wheel drive. RWD vehicles have a tendency to over-steer, and this can be ugly when taking a fast corner in the wet. Edited April 5, 2006 by Jeffrey
Rapan Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 oh..... i'm not too comfy with rear wheel drive.... wat's ur opinion on the different choices?
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 I saw it at the showroom, the bulit was good enough compare to the rest of their lineup. I like it quite alot but the showroom only the car in Stock, no sports rim, no letter seats, no player coz I find out that the showroom cars have already found their owner and now waiting for loan approval or COE. . Currently, 64,500 before bargain include, sports rim, leather seat, mp3 player, hard case spare wheel cover and reverse sensor <---- all these are standard offer. Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 I don't think with that height of the car u can take any fast corner in any condition.
Rapan Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 oh..... the car so hot ah.... well, i suppose since there wasn't any test drive car (pending LTA'a approval), this showrm pieces shd be a good buy as no one has rammed it yet but $$ can bargain one ah? tot it's authorised disti? their pricing not like TCM, BM & KM etc? maybe we shd rally & get some 'group purchase' discount
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 sure can ask for discount one lah...
Rapan Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 ok. i'd like to believe u! shall try. hopefully COE will drop a little by time decide to book car.
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 else remind them there's a Toyota Rush that PI is offering.
Jeffrey 1st Gear April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 Thus 4WD (full time; not real time) for the Rush/Terios should make a big difference in the wet.
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 CG is high for the car unless u lower them.
Jeffrey 1st Gear April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 If CG is lowered, it essentially becomes a saloon car - not a SUV any more.
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 That's y i don't think anyone who drove a SUV will do any fast corner.
Jeffrey 1st Gear April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 Not when it is a 4WD SUV - it corners safely, and much better, in the wet.
Rapan Neutral Newbie April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 but is FC a lot of diff between the 2WD & 4WD? hey! COE for Cat A stays almost level as last bidding (down $3 @ $11,901). anyone knows of NEW prices by the car companies? seems like good news to us, who has yet book our cars? no. of bidders dropped by more than 1k too!! but i wonder why.....
Jeffrey 1st Gear April 5, 2006 Share April 5, 2006 Based on manufacturer's claims, the difference in FC between 2WD and 4WD is about 0.7 km/ltr. By the way, I just check the details of the Terios catalog, and just realised that for this export model, there is no Auto 2WD for RHD models; Auto 2WD is only available for LHD models (Europe in mind obviously). Now, we know why STS don't have an Auto 2WD Terios. A pity, really. ↡ Advertisement
