Is this Anti-roll Bar effective?

hi, i'm thinking of getting the anti-roll bar from Ultra Racing (m'sian brand). the set up of the anti-roll (rear sway) bar is shown in the pics below:

brand name and anti-malaysia sentiments aside ( [sly] ), can anyone comment if this anti-roll bar is any good? a friend has commented that this roll-bar won't be effective because it is not mounted to the underside of the chassis (it is just tied to the torsion beam using 2 metal braces) and hence it will not be rigid enough to be of any use.

Don't know what car it's for, but a good (or upgraded) rear stabilizer definately improves the handling of a FF car. The bar above looks too long and thin to actually provide good anti-roll when cornering. I've upgraded my Sephia's rear stabilizer to a thicker one, and it rocks! Hardly any body roll during cornering.

The stabilizer bar is supposed to be secured to the car chassis, don't know why this one is held by the torsion beam. If you car doesn't come with rear stabilizer, maybe you can give it a try.

This is not a strut bar. This is an anti-roll bar or sway bar. There is a reason why it is thin. A FF car with a rear torsion beam axle is already stiff enough.

Neutral Newbie

from the top pics, the bar might "roll" around the torsial beam during hard cornering ... with this setup .... I reckon a good tie bar might be better .....
