Passerby Neutral Newbie June 3, 2006 Share June 3, 2006 Both Civics and Altis are the most popular cars in SG, and they have launched in this year battling head on. Altis just has its face lift. In general, which is better in your heart? ↡ Advertisement

Elfenstar 3rd Gear June 3, 2006 Share June 3, 2006 I agree with Nutty. I don't even like Civics and yet i will still say they're heaps better than the altis.
Normal_aspirated Clutched June 3, 2006 Share June 3, 2006 (edited) probably both brands hv strong and well-established agents like KM and BM & that be the reason of higher volume of sales..... Edited June 3, 2006 by Normal_aspirated
Nutty 4th Gear June 3, 2006 Share June 3, 2006 Altis' sales easily climbs over Civics'. So many people are buying Altis. But most of them are 1.6L. I hardly see 1.8L around.
Swift 1st Gear June 3, 2006 Share June 3, 2006 Altis 1.8L and 1.6L only the engine different rite? i dun see any 1.8L around, or should i say i cant tell if it is a 1.8...
Normal_aspirated Clutched June 3, 2006 Share June 3, 2006 (edited) 1.6L cars r much cheaper to own.......prob due our tax systems here. Edited June 3, 2006 by Normal_aspirated
Chenqien Neutral Newbie June 4, 2006 Share June 4, 2006 1000cc to 1600cc is one tax bracket.. 1600cc to 3000cc is another tax bracket..so tt means there is an exponential increase in tax payable btw a 1.6 and 1.8.... of cos go for 1.6.. unless u gian the extra features in 1.8 like opitron meters and the gate gear shift.. and of cos the 1ZZ-FE engine.. which is also found in the celica.. Cbx750p 1st Gear June 4, 2006 Share June 4, 2006 You got to be kidding comparing the old, ugly, outdated Altis with the beautiful, new, youthful Civic ! Just the trime and interior itself would wind the battle without any fight at all ! The Civic is so that I am with it so much ! Only two comment I have on the civic is the very very deep & long dashboard plus the digital speedometer ! Tested the 1.8 and 2.0 ! The DOHC 2.0 certainly have more punch than the 1.8 SOHC ! Budget wise, I would settle for the basic 1.8 which is going for $68K at Kah ! CBX
Passerby Neutral Newbie June 4, 2006 Author Share June 4, 2006 not sure the subject needs brain. what i see is, the new civics are getting more & more common, despite a hefty price premium over good ol' altises on the road. i'm wondering, would people trade their altises for the civics? the latter looks quite nice though... Boyboy 1st Gear June 4, 2006 Share June 4, 2006 considering price, tough fight. i dun feel the civic is really worth the diff. same price, no fight la. so why compare? hahaha
Passerby Neutral Newbie June 4, 2006 Author Share June 4, 2006 Civic ,corolla & sunny are the most common models in SG since day one, since there are no new Sunny & corolla, most SGeans would either consider altis or civic. incldg my colleagues who are already start thinking about changing their toyotas to civics (black ones in particular)
