Firehorse 1st Gear June 29, 2006 Share June 29, 2006 hi, just my opinion. you should use the spare tyres , u still need to replace the spare after sometimes/years even if it is not being used. so save up to change for a better rims would be nice ________ _____________________
Tanzy Clutched June 29, 2006 Share June 29, 2006 Why don't you try to photoshop your tire? It can look brand new again.
Matrix755 Neutral Newbie June 29, 2006 Share June 29, 2006 Brother, Any cut on the side may impact the function of the tyre.. do pay extra attention... Check on the imprints on the side wall and look for the * * (anything within the *), it will show you the week & year of manufactured. That will assist you in making the decision. Normal life span is 5 years regardless of on the load or in the shop... Happy Driving...
Elfenstar 3rd Gear June 29, 2006 Share June 29, 2006 on the other hand maybe i save money ...replace with my spare tire and used that cut one as a spare lor Nope. not supposed to use the spare for long usage as the rolling diameter will be different from the wheel on the opposite side... i.e. accelerated wear and tear on related parts. Just change the pair of tyres on the axle as sidewalls can't be repaired.

Kianbeng Clutched June 30, 2006 Share June 30, 2006 If it's a small cut, and you don't see anything (steel wire), then just replace from spare. Then maybe every few weeks have a check at the cut, see if it's growing into a bump. Usually if the cut is bad, then you'll see the steel wires protruding slowly.
