Garang_guni2002 Neutral Newbie June 30, 2006 Share June 30, 2006 Hi all Am thinking of upgrading my current ride to an MPV...and have narrowed down to either the Toyota Wish or the Mazda 5.... Though the difference between the basic Wish XE and the Mazda 5 is about $10k but Mazda 5 offers a firmer ride (based on what I read) and 4 disc brakes. For the Wish, good thing is the fuel consumption and if upgrade to the Aerosports version also got 4 disc brakes and after throwing in some accessories price difference between the 2 about the same.... Any advice??...thks ↡ Advertisement

Ahbengdriver 6th Gear June 30, 2006 Share June 30, 2006 No free lunch. WISH is better FC becos it is lighter. My colleague juts bot one 1 month ago. Since then he had added this n that and the cost price had gone up accordingly. The best thing he put in was sound insulation. He did a very good write up according to what I know on WISH forum and now everyobe want to copy his sound proving. The Mit grandis is very nice, i wld buy that if I want an MPV, the 2.5 litre one has everything
Tanjk Neutral Newbie July 1, 2006 Share July 1, 2006 It all depends on how much you want to spend. There are 60+k MPVs and then there are 100+k MPVs and countless in between. Should your budget is less than 70k, then the Wish is a no brainer. If you have 70k+ 80k budget, then perhaps the Wish doesn't look that attractive afterall because you can have bigger, better (in terms of equipment) MPVs. In fact, the Wish and Mz5 shouldn't be placed side by side because like you said, they are 10k apart. 10k is a lot of $$$ you know. Perhaps, you can compare the Wish 2.0G vs Mz5. In that case, I'll still take the Wish :) Regards, JK
Notsoblurr Neutral Newbie July 2, 2006 Share July 2, 2006 I bought a Toyota Wish becuase of good fc and roomy (leg room) as compare to Mazada 5. If you prefer 4 disc brake, then go for aerosport wish. There are lot of accessaries you could add on Wish, install at lcal shop, mass order at Wish Club or buy them in Thailand and Taiwan. Carmaniac Neutral Newbie July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 (edited) my dad just got his new wish a week ago... the car is quite okay in terms of power. In terms of space, the last row is meant for kids and not adults. But Mazda 5 will score more in terms of reliability and design. But money wise, mazda 5 is not worth it. Tploh Clutched July 3, 2006 Share July 3, 2006 (edited) Company posted me to Hong Kong to work next week, but my family is staying back to take care of my father who will receive prostate cancer treatment in SGH. They will join me after my father's treatment is over some time in Oct 06. I advertised in Sgcarmart before as none of us knew about my father's cancer. So my family will drive the car for the time being. Will sell only sometime in Oct. My stream is near 5 years already. So the price I can fetch is very much paper + body. No point in "cheating" any MCF forumers. Many have treated me very we, especially in time of needs. Edited July 3, 2006 by Tploh
Seansene 1st Gear July 4, 2006 Share July 4, 2006 How many seats will you require? If you seldom need to transport seven, the Honda Edix will take six in better comfort than the Wish, due to its impressive interior width. You also get a full-time boot, as opposed to having space for either passngers or things. And the road tax is lower too
