i dunno how bros out here will react to my thread here.... ok.bros out here ,lets say u r to choose within a civic sir and civic fd 1.6 , which will u get? another question is tat if i were to get the civic sir which have 2 yrs left on the coe, will i stand to lose much if i scarp it after 1yr use?the price for the sir is ard 33k

Forget about old Civics lah ... probably raped and sodomized by their owners repeatedly already. Your repair bill is gonna be steep within the first 6 months, if you want to get it back into shape of its previous self.

Get the FD 1.6. Lower powered, but better family car lah.

Hey bro [;)] Whenever u buy a Honda, dun always think of 'can mod until how fast?' cos I believe there r things more than speed when u choose a Honda... [flowerface]

Means losing 6.5k per year for an old car assuming you drive until scrap. This is without factoring repair cost.

IMO, not worth it. Besides, a WRX is a much better choice than SIR if speed and handling is what you want. Get a used but newer WRX (2-5 years old) will set you with the same kind of depreciation of around 6.5k per year.

here is the details of the sir.coe-$29100 omv-$19949.selling at $33333

haha...i think i can give you some good advice...

i bought a 6yr old SiR(M) in 2003, but drove it for only 1yr4mths. the SiR is really powerful, power is there when you need it. for overtaking, going up genting was like a sprint with 5 adults.

however, i also got tired of it. manual gear was tiring in the peak cte/pie jams and city jams. maybe i'm lazy. got myself a new mazda3. no doubt the power is totally uncomparable. however the comfort wins in all aspect.

if you can find a good condition SiR, there should not be much repair bills. i only changed 1 drive shaft for the duration i drove it. others was just normal oil change.

if you're dying for the power, go for the SiR.
