Any expert here got any advice? I'm not expert, but know that most ioniser produces ozone. Ozone is used effectively to kill bacteria, but heard that too much of it (dunno how much) will collapses our human lungs. Please don't quote me, this is just what I hear say only. Don't know if there is any truth in it or not.

Lucien Neutral Newbie October 22, 2006 Share October 22, 2006 A cheap, small ionizer will not be so strong to cuz such problems. I believe a Household size ionizer in a car will have such probs.
Solar Turbocharged October 22, 2006 Share October 22, 2006 imho, take those webby end with .com with a pinch of salt.. cos there is always commercial in mind, in this case, trying to sell the filter together with the ionizer.
Apollo 1st Gear October 23, 2006 Share October 23, 2006 bulls.. there is a critical difference betw ionized air and O3. they r not the same. get hold of the volume of your cabin, say 3m3 amount of dust = 0.5g/m3= total dust only 1.5g http://www.nus.edu.sg/osh/programme/envmgt/indoor.htm calculate your breathing rate and the speed of adhesion by electrolyting the dust your breathing rate (normal aspirating = 60 liter/min ) is rather fixed unless you get into condition of increasing carbon monoxide where hyper ventilation occurs. even at that point, the rate is rather predictable. u r not absorbing the entire 1.5g of dust. go figure.. Romano Neutral Newbie April 11, 2009 Share April 11, 2009 ionizers generally are safe as the qty of ions are good for our health. however, anything excessive is harmful to us! so, the smart thing to do is not to get anything that is made in China to use in your car . happy usage~
