Koolaba 1st Gear November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 An extra gear ratio for the manual and less transmission loss could be the main reasons why King is getting better mileage with his ride.

Tashi Clutched November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 hi bro Lamy We are on ron 95 all the way, and so far, we have clocked consistently 650km per full tank. but then hor, my wife maybe gentler driver. hehe. Trying to clear my points by redeeming them for caltex, so until points used up, think can try spc. bless tashi
Fortress Clutched November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 Did 16+km /l on 70/30 highway/city using 98, but one quarter of the highway was doing 120kmh or more, and the rest is 90kmh, believe can be better

Lamy Neutral Newbie November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 That is Fantastic even for a 1.4l car of that size and build. There is a school of thought that states smaller the CC on a bigger car = higher FC. Not in your case. You must have great control. Tai Chi Master? Lamy Neutral Newbie November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 Tashi, That is great mileage from our point of view (wife & I). We get stuck in at least three slow travelling areas every workday. All it takes is one accident and FC is fracked (BSG Term, for followers of Battlestar Galactica). We like to reach cruising speed of 110/120 and are pretty heavy footed. Me think I have rubbed off on wife. I can be quite a speed demon and the best speed control device I have ever encountered is my wife. We are switching to Mobil because of fleet card. Still feeling it out. But I doubt it will be much difference. Perception is that SPC is the lowest quality of all brands. Considered generic local brand. Tashi Clutched November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 yes bro, no worries, I know about BSG, though more of a Trekkie. :-) I am my wife's speed control device mostly. haha. bless tashi
Try_conti 2nd Gear November 2, 2006 Share November 2, 2006 OK update. Just & pump just now when the refuel light came on @ 454km (exactly when the needle touches the red mark). That means my previous 49+l only lasted 454km, which worked out to be approx. 9.2km/l. & I just gave up the 22% disc. fm SPC to pump Shell95. Despite the $0.11/l price drop, with only 11% disc fm Shell, I still ended up paying $0.09/l more . That means that with the 50l pumped today, I ended up paying $4.60 more. What was I thinking of ???? Want to see if Shell95 gives more mileage than SPC95 with my normal driving pattern. But with this extra amount paid, I would need to have gotten 3.2l more with SPC. Assuming 9.2km/l, that would mean I need to see approx. 6% more mileage to break even. Shell95 better give me at least 485km before the light comes on, KNS !
