Iridiumx Clutched December 16, 2006 Share December 16, 2006 so my sis was very interested in the cx-7. she went to the showroom once, and liased with a SE. I suggested she should test drive before making a decision, though she wasnt really keen on testing it. now, back at the showroom, i had a closer look at the cx-7. especially the interior. as mention. the plastic gives a very cheap feel. its so hard, that it give a feeling, it will crack. same 'cheap' materials are also use for door panels. why 'cheap'? they SE was assuring that it was built that way, with a high standard bla bla bla... panels have joining edges that look awaful. not to mention, the dashboard looks rather dull. doesnt justify the price tag. time for the test drive. because of its puny turbo, test drive requirements, are 28yrs and above. which means i was not allowed to test. i was in the back seat, and what i could gather about the car was limited. apart from the engine pull, i cant really tell much about the car. but i believe there is still a small turbo lag. its a part time 4wd, only delivers power to the rear when the front starts slipping. i think it defeats the purpose of a 4wd. i notice the "TCS off" button. should provide some fun. bodyroll, cant really comment. my sis wasnt pushing it. i was more interested in the 6sp gearbox but pity i didnt have the chance to try. ive tried a mz3, and the gear box was a let down. it has the 'lazy bone' sympton, i.e. doenst like to downshift unless really provoked. give a pretty liveless feeling. upon further inqury (just as i expected) insurance only covers named driver because of the tiny whiny turbo (yet again). which of cause is not practical, being a family car. a major turnoff. quite a number of people would be using the car.. overall, the visit to the ubi showroom want really pleasant. the SE seem to be rushing us. didnt even give me proper chance to test the audio. anyway though cx-7 looks promissing on specs and on the outside, due to it cons, it more or less already striked off the list. next up, mitsu outlander. ↡ Advertisement

Yeshe Turbocharged December 16, 2006 Share December 16, 2006 SE like all sales people big small eyes one. if they see that you are not the one buying or capable of buying the car, they dun give 2 hoots about u. in your case, you sis is buying the car, so the SE will attend to her needs first. i was in Ford showroom a few mths ago looking at the Ford Escape then. there were so many SEs chit chatting by the recept counter and none bothered to attend to me. then a angmo couple came to see the same car, immediately the SE came to service them. knn, this kind of service attitude, i confirm will not spend my $$ there. anyway, i test drive the escape and it sucks... Yeshe Turbocharged December 16, 2006 Share December 16, 2006 and by the way, it got nothing to do with any bxxxxxxt minimum age of 28. if a 28 yr old has 10 yrs driving experience and 55% NCD, tell the SE go fly kite!

I went with my wife to see some cars, and the SEs all attended to me instead, when she was the one who was shopping for a car. they just automatically assume that the man is the one buying and with the money..
