Why Mazda Engine Noisy?

why so many bros/sis said mazda engine is noisy? especially mz3 & mz6. i owned mondeo, tried altis, gen2 & recently vios, getz, they are all noisier then the mz3, the worse is the mondeo. I can't remember how is sunny behave but i have not try honda.

No problem with my mazda3sp. once engine is heated up the engine was super quite, sometimes I tot I had already switch off the engine.

Engine noise wise is ok.

 

The problem lies in Sound proofing.

Probably that's the reason(s).

i think its perception. noisy as compared to what.you can't pit a mz3 against an is250. and for the lower ends cars bound to have a bit of noise.

Compared against an Altis, mz3 can't hold a candle to it.

My Bro is driving a Mazda 3..

 

Its about 2 years old already.. I can say that dunno why but the engine is getting noiser now especially when its not been run in for a while..

 

But once heated up.. its ok again..

Tried mz3...engine noise increased when flooring accelerator.

Pickup was real dam slow as compare to other Japanese make.

Tried Altis, omg the pickup is even slower. Floor accelerator like car too dam heavy to move . Engine starts to make loud noise when high rpm engage.

The Mazda3 1.6 isnt superquiet, that is for certain.

 

I believe the general benchmark for engine noise sound is during normal acceleration..not at idle...

don think altis picks up slower unless u are comparing altis 1.6 to mazda3 2.0, else i still think altis can accelerate faster

Maybe. maybe not. I pulled up the carpet of the IS250. There is hardly any soundproofing underneath. Yet the engine is imperceptable at idle and at most rev ranges. They claim its just 1DB louder than the LS430 at idle and I believe it; simply because you can't get much quieter. My BMW has 3 inches of insulation in places, yet its simply noisy in comparison. I think noise has a lot to do with tight engine tolerances too. Not just layers of soundproofing.

I think the main draw for the Mazda 3 is the looks

Engine wise feels underpowered but I don't find it very noisy.

Can't run thats for sure....and drink petrol like no tommorrow.

 

If you like what looks and feels like a rubbish can for a car...can always go for Altis Iam sure the FC and power is better then mazda 3 but I just can't stand the look and feel of it

I tried my friend 3-4 months old Altis, I faced the same experience like u, i was , suspect that was due the icu problem & the poor sound proof, maybe.

I do not agree wif yr statement, mdz definitely can run, if u hav mz3 on the expressway, u know what i means. But agree tat it is slow in pick-up.
