Now I remember. I watched Big Bad Mama at the Globe. Sky is the other one I went to. Watched. SWALK - Melody starring Jack Wild, Tracy Hyde and Mark Lester. Big time child stars during those times. The main thing that makes me remember about the movie is the Bee Gees songs of which in particular is Come First of May and Melody.

Tracy Hyde has this fan page. She is kinda cute.

Globe cinema was the one I watched the most movies - all in English - with SWALK being one of those which I watched many times. I wonder where is Mark Lester now. He looked so young, sweet and cute in the movie.

I don't think the first pic is Kim Keat Rd flats, 1959. That road is Jln Tenteram a one way road. It is 2-way after the right bend further up.

Count the number of levels - Kau Lau, also known as St Michael Estate. It was block 10 on the right and block 9 on the left. I stayed at block 12.

Directly behind the centre block was the Jln Tenteram CC, one of the pic posted by you earlier.

The second pic is the 3 rms VIP block in Toa Payoh. Most dignitaries were brought to the top floor to have an overview of the estate in the early days. My friend stayed on the top floor on the right side and his house was frequently chosen for VIP visits.

Whampoa Drive was then known as Towner Rd. Just after turning from Balestier Rd into Towner Rd on the left are 3 storey houses. That's where I stayed from the day I was borned. The bldg is now gone. Later moved to Jln Tenteram (known kau lau). Those terrace houses with garden you referred to were built and sold by HDB in the early sixties.

Towner Road was all the way from Balestier Road to Serangoon Rd, cutting across Jln Kebun Limau which is now part of CTE. Along Towner Road were Raymond Sch, Towner Sch, McNair Sch and Griffit Sch. I think all gone.

I was staying at the HDB blocks at Whampoa Drive itself. Just a short walk away was St.Michael's Estate & Jan Tenteram & Kim Keat. My block was near the river.

Townwe road??? U know any De Souza family that stayed there. & the Clark family too?

Which part of Towner Rd are you referring to? My was near Balestier Rd. Anyway I stayed there till end of 1959. Forgot all of my childhood neighbours. Vaguely remember 2 boys Moses and Monika from a Jew family.

I moved out of Jln Tenteram in 1975 and again I forgot all my neighbourhood friends.

Then there was no Whampoa Drive, only Jln Bahagia.
