My family used to stay at Lorong 23 too. But I wasn't born yet.

It is now an open air car park...

Are you referring to the open car park at Lor 21 instead, which is opposite the old Geylang Sch which now houses a welfare organisation?

This car park at Lor 21 used to be the site of staff quarters of the employees of the three different schools.

chinatown, 1960

The top picture is definitely not in Chinatown. You see the Central Fire Station at the end? This is Hock Lam St, long demolished, where the presnet Funan Centre is. Funan is the hanyu pinyin for Hock Lam.

The Malayan Brewery site in Alexandra Rd where the Anchorage is presently.

There used to be a cement bridge across Alexandra Road linking the brewery and buildings across the road....and a rail track behind the building (Anchor's warehouse)

Those in the pix don't look like they are going to die anytime soon. Probably had to wait for weeks or even months before they pass on. I wonder how did they charge....per stay?

Cars then were dam solid i guess. Look at the last pic. Almost no depression at all.

Btw wads that man doing? Is he stepping on the boot of the car?

Cars then had super skinny and thin tyres but the damage to eth cars in an accident are seldom very serious from what we see today. Time to reduce speed limits on the roads..

Rite. That's the place we fought to settle disputes in class.

There was once we ran off in different direction when a police car stopped at the road and came after us.
