[thumbsup] 16.3km/l after 1k, thats very good fc, that means when its fully run in should hit 17km/l - thats honda city territory.

But if Axio cannot achieve good FC then the Japanese will be wasting their efforts to lighten the car by making the plastic and metal thinner compared to the G9 Corolla.

Hi, I'm newbie for car and considering Axio. Can I check with owners the following about those AXIO bought here:

1.Is VSC-Vehicle Stability Control, standardly equipped? According to Toyota's Japanese website, looks yes.But I don't understand Japanese, so can only see those English and Chinese characters.

Then how about the function which automatically reduce speed if Axio runs faster then the car before it. (in the web pages below)

http://toyota.jp/corollaaxio/safety/active/index.html

2.How many airbags? Only two for driver and front passenger? How come it seems rear seats also have in the NCAP's video?

http://www.euroncap.com/tests/toyota_corolla_2007/285.aspx

3.Is "超音波...驻车空间检出

few things i dont understand:

1: why people have a problem of 'made in china' or 'made in thailand, imho, toyota is toyota, wont die one, unless small issues like "bumper fitting not straight" or "water enter the headlamp" bothers you, it doesnt bother me, come on, outsourcing is everywhere, how "jdm" is "jdm"?

2: why people have a problem with their car model used as taxi, cos i think the fact that its used as taxi means: good value, easy maintenance, and correspondingly since so many on the road, parts cheap

3: why SOME people have a problem with auto, cos i been driving manual for coming 5 years now, and i can say NEVER again in my life i buy a manual car, sorry this point is personal, some may still prefer the "full control" of a manual as opposed to auto/cvt

but really, my biggest peeve is 1, really so what if the fd, axio, merc s-class, smlj car is made in thailand? (just for example) even if axio is made in hell also i buy

Nowadays everything globalisation...

Does it matter anymore made in where liao??

So what if made in China or Thailand? Does it means engineers or assemblers there are bad?

Can a made in Japan model be better? Scenerio, the workers employed in Japan are from China... And another scenerio, the Thai Factory hires assemblers from Japan...

Just like to share some scary fact about this model, I happen to press lightly on the bonnet of the Axio, can feel the bonnet metal goes in a bit then I look at the interior plastic, it gives me the feeling that it is made in China as the plastic used is so cheapo looking. thumbsdown.gif

I agree with you...that's why I did not get AXIO. because the imo the interior quanlity is worse [thumbsdown] than my previous sunny, and the interior space is about the same.

But I like the exterior design and especially FC [thumbsup].

Hello, i am driving an Axio.. can you show us your "I happen to press lightly on the bonnet of the Axio, can feel the bonnet metal goes in a bit.." experience on my car? i tried myself a number of times but cannot get the same "feel".. [:|]

If you managed to do it on my Axio, i will accept your "fact" but if not, please retract your statement.. [pirate]

cheers

Sure if you don't feel heart pain cos my friend who wanted to buy Axio also test out together with me, he was surprised to know that the bonnet is so thin, worst than his old Vios.

He decided not to get the Axio in the end, it also depend on which portion of the bonnet you press it in, try pressing on the centre portion of the bonnet and not the corners.

just fyi, the "pressing in" phenomenon you layman talk about is actually specifically engineered to absorb shocks upon impact.

Of course if u compare the structural integrity with a BMW, it's far malleable. But it's a apple and durian comparison.

As you can see on the flip side of the bonnet, it is reinforced in a particular fashion. Of course, i don't expect you to know how it works... LOL

Ya, I may not know how it works if it appears to you. laugh.gif

Guess many agree that the Japanese are more technically advanced but not forgetting that they have spent much on their R&D to make their products not as lasting as before, most of their parts will spoilt when the times is up.

I happen to see the new batch of Axio with car plate SJD, it is very surprising to see new cars without RPM meter, guess that is part of the cutting cost as for auto gear, there is no need to see RPM as everything is controlled by the ECU and Auto Gearbox. laugh.gif

if axio is made in thailand, they are bounds to have some stickers around the engine bay area with thai wordings...but to my knowlege it does not have....and it's a known fact that the axio and fielder are jdm models meant for the japanese market which makes no sense for them to be produced in thailand..

This also can argue.. [laugh]

Sorry to bump up this old thread but if anyone is looking for the Axio, I have a few pre-face lift Axio 1.5X A to clear. (OMV range $15,500 - $16,000)

PM me if interested, I'll do a customised package based on your requirements.

Cheers. ^_^

Hi all still new to this forum, but got axio news to share. I have been driving an axio. Recently changed and pumped caltex premium 98. Spc previously give me max 600KM with conservative driving. The mileage for caltex 1 full tank ended at 680KM. could have been more if i hadnt rev and carried extra load. Fellow Axio drivers free next time go try~ =)

people expect some quality when they are paying so much for a car.

Driving an Axio.

Going to have 2 kids soon and back seat can only fit 1 car seat and an adult.

Thinking of placing the 4 year old at front seat but since airbags kill children, how can I disable the front left airbag?

Thanks.

I have exactly the same concerns... so just in case #2 comes along, I thot I'd be better off with a fielder? [:p]
