Yup the there are 2 stickers blue and green. Related on the pollution and enviromental ratings.

Acutally made in china or not is not important most importantly it function as required. Younger generations may not know Japs started out as copy cats after ww2 and made inferior products and improved.

From all your comments, I guess most of you are belong to Uncle Class type of owners just like my Grandfather with one sentence of saying, no matter what car you buy, must always buy a Toyota cos it is more reliable.

 

If all the car manufacturers have these type of owners then they can even assembled in China or those undevelop countries, people will still buy their cars and imagine how much they can save on the cost cos they do not have to state clearly where each models are assembled or manufactured.

 

That is why car owners are just owners, only look at the point of view from the owner's side and not the manufacturer's side.

 

There will be a day that Toyota will be assembled in China whether it is sooner or later only.

This is utter nonsense, i own a toyota and intend to buy a camry. But it's because they are more affordable than the beemers and mercs and have a certain standard. Not becos i MUST always buy a toyota. i wud luv the bmw or even the accord euro r anytime.

that might be true no doubt. but what u said is tht AXIO is from thailand, how's china coming in to the picture now? They built a makeshift plant becos of the current militant rulings? and toyota only sells 300,000 cars annually? so some cars hv china engine and some have thai while some others from japan? Even if tht's true, the OMV will fluctuate and taxes come into play.

 

In another posting u also mentioned,

Axio parts are made in Japan but it is assembled in Thailand, this should be the correct info and that explains why there are no stickers for the QC test & Safety Test in Japanese wordings on the rear windscreen of Axio.

 

I would say that the plastic used in the interior of Axio is very thin even compared to the G9, that explains why Axio is lighter than G9 Corolla and the FC is better.

 

Assembled in thailand? so will they need a japanese transvetite to help with the translation from the engine bay?

i won't comment on the stickers as i will not bring myself to ur level.

Find me a car that is built entirely in-house, or even in the same country as its branding. The BMW M3 comes stock with Michelin tires. OMG, what are French tires doing on a German coupe?????? What if the headlight bulbs weren't BMW-branded? Outsourcing is a fact of manufacturing. I have no worries if people turn away from Kia brand here as most people here are full supporter of Japanese or Continental cars, even some of the members here also feel the same way too.

 

Only those who ever own it will know its benefits over other makes so the choice is yours.

Also, I went to a showroom and saw a DVD player fitted onto the AXIO. It looks terrible as it protrude a bit out... does anyone know of any 2Din DVD/Audio that can be fitted in and are nicely flush with the 2din console?

the stock LCD doesn't protrude out, it is the aftermkt ones. You can take a look at the webbie at toyota.jp.

 

Secondly, the stock LCD is an option in singapore i.e. you usually hv to pay a bit more for it.

 

thirdly, you can definitely fit in any 2din HU provided you didn't opt for the stock LCD touchscreen.

yes of curs... if it protrudes out, it has to be an aftermarket HU fitted by the PI so as to reduce the price of the car when it is brought into a port.

 

WHat i am saying is, u save on import tariffs. SUch as u won't import a nike air force one when u can get it in singapore right? the same principle goes.

 

Go for the ones wif the LCD, tht is the essence of the AXIO... Otherwise, i don't see how the axio really diffrentiates itself other than the FC per se compared to cars in this class.

 

Of curs i'm not saying it is not a gd car, becos i look forward to driving it everytime, even after 10000km :)
