Nampa man sues Nissan over odometers

NAMPA -- One of the top five carmakers could be headed to court. That after a Nampa man filed a civil suit against Nissan North America.

The accusation claims odometers in some Nissan vehicles are rolling-over before the miles are actually put on.

Phillip King is suing Nissan North America, claiming that there could be problems with the odometer readings on his Nissan vehicles.

 

 

 

Phillip King says he heard there could be problems and wants to make sure people aren't cheated out of lease fines and extended warranties.

"I have never been in lawsuit, I have never sued nobody, nothing, this just kind of fell into my lap,

If this type of case can win...Only in America you can get such lawsuits.

 

In future, all cars will strictly have to use back the same rim/tyre size. Since the odometer will be calibrated to the tyre rolling diameter.

Or many next time the odometer will be replaced by a more expensive electronic GPS sensor!
