Andrewkb Neutral Newbie April 23, 2003 Share April 23, 2003 (edited) Just curious if anyone ever get bothered about the seat belt retracting too slowly ? My previous Sunny, once I release, it'll snap back very very fast. But my current Stream, when I release, due to the angle of the seatbelt hook (along B-pillar), it may or may not retract .. sometimes it just hang there ! The manual mentioned slow retracting could be due to dirt on the seat belt ... but I've cleaned it with no effect. I think it's more due to the angle .... Anyone has any neat trick ? Playgirl Neutral Newbie April 24, 2003 Share April 24, 2003 Just my 2 cents worth...should be due to the angle cos sedan and MPV diff angle mah... But why you want it to snap back?

Dome Neutral Newbie April 25, 2003 Share April 25, 2003 Perhaps you may be rite, but its a pretty unusual case. Anyway, theres no harm in checking with the agent since your vehicle is still under warranty. "Live life to the Max."
Karen Neutral Newbie April 26, 2003 Share April 26, 2003 (edited) hi Andrewkb, how do you do? i think you agent will not replace the seat belt for you even it's under warrany, cos they call that an wear and tear item. but just to check with you is the left seat belt returnig speed the same? or faster?......by the way no harm trying..... take care cheers karen Edited April 26, 2003 by Karen
Andrewkb Neutral Newbie April 26, 2003 Author Share April 26, 2003 Hi Karen, I am fine, thanks All seatbelts return at the same speed. Maybe compare to my previous Sunny, it's slow ... I am used to it snapping back
Karen Neutral Newbie April 26, 2003 Share April 26, 2003 hi Andrewkb, if they are at the same speed then i think should ok. why not check the other who drive the same modle. cheers karen
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie April 26, 2003 Share April 26, 2003 Hey KB, point to note, if the seat belts retract to a full "rest" positing then they're fine. Unlike both my cheap American made Fords, they're seat belts retract halfway and hang there unless I "slot" them back fully (machiam like old taxis )
Andrewkb Neutral Newbie April 26, 2003 Author Share April 26, 2003 Actually it retract 1/2 way then hang there .... due to the angle. I just adjust a bit, then it'll retract fully ...
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie April 27, 2003 Share April 27, 2003 Well at least it goes back all the way by itself
Yansen Neutral Newbie January 12, 2005 Share January 12, 2005 hi all, sorry to bring up this old thread. i have some enquiries regarding my malfunctioning seatbelts. 1. my front seatbelts sometimes do not automatically retract back into the holder on the b-pillar. sometimes they do. what's spoilt here? 2. the back seatbelts cant be clipped on! 3. the front passenger seatbelt can only be clipped when the clip's 'head' is reversed. as u can see, my seatbelts r giving lots of problems. appreciate any advice n help on this subject. thanks thanks.. Yeobh 4th Gear January 19, 2005 Share January 19, 2005 The most impt considerationis the belt must be able to react once you slam the brake. The rest is not important
Genie47 1st Gear January 19, 2005 Share January 19, 2005 My seatbelt reacts everytime I pull it too fast. Irritating but also feel assured. ↡ Advertisement
