Seeing how the 6 or 7in1 PI has survived all these while, i really doubt the bad guys will be weeded out first. sweatdrop.gif

to put it simply, there will always be a group of buyers looking for the cheapest price from PIs. that's how these shabby PIs survive.

in this competitive environment, cheap comes at a price to the consumers.

Cheapest doesnt means the best. Look out for the rebate as well, when buying a car. Having a rebate isn't as sweet as some thinks here. PI did a great job in my opinion, they brought in cars that are not available at the local distributors and their price is slightly more attractive.

But this thread poster is quite insensitive with his last sentence " Anyone want to bet which PI will be the first to close shop ". It is like saying lets bet who is the next person to get retrenched in the company, gloating at them.

Yes doing business in free market like Singapore is not easy. PI's are a tough business to be in. The market forces are determined by the GOV and the AD.

I feel a sense of defeat whenever the gov punished some PI for declaring low OMV on their cars.

I mean....if the PI relationship with their Japanese dealear is good, I don't see WHY PI cannot be correct when they buy their cars at lower OMV in Japan!

Why must the AD cry foul when the PI is able to bring in cars with lower OMV??

Is it wrong that a particular Japanese dealer is willing to sell at a loss to a Singapore PI?? That is FREE market at work.

Gloating ..... [jawdrop][jawdrop][jawdrop]

Poor PIs .... poor PIs ... it is such a shame to be a poor PI ...... wonder why there are at least 65 of these sharks in the market ..... poor PI .... now am I gloating?

Me insensitive? Have you ask those customers who are screwed by the PIs whether the PIs were in any way sensitive to them when they were dealing with them ...... NOT even answering a phone call, threatening customers, cars get towed away ...... * poor PI * WTF [furious] %^^%$##@ !!!!

Have you ask the many customers, including myself, who had been taken for a ride by some of these crap PIs?

65 PIs ..... how many brand of cars are there on the market? How many ADs are there?

If you are considering buying from a PI - choose wisely. Don't end up with one of these sharks who are just waiting to make one last killing before they close shop ........ BE CAREFUL when you deal with some of these crappy PI .....

Business? To be exact ...... $2 fly-by-night business ........ I have more sympathy for those girls rounded up walking along the streets of Geylang ..... they work harder and certainly gives better value than some of these crap PI ......

Dear See_nik, I feel that one has to understand that some PIs are struggling to keep their business running in view of the low new car prices and reduction of COEs. They are competing against the bigger and more established PIs and Authorised Distributors.

The question that you posted in my opinion, is a very sensitive issue although you are free to post whatever you want.

Will you be happy to see so and so PIs closing their business? Perhaps, you have not been in business and that's why you are asking such question.

I am running my own business and I know how it is like in this competitive market.

So please, be sensible enough and withdraw your posting and I hope that the moderators would not disapprove of my request to See_nik.

Hey ..... what business you do-ah?

Say .... shall we start a "Help the Poor PI" fund? Or maybe a "Ex-PI Retirement Fund" for those PI who has been serving SG with such dedication all these years .......

If you are really doing business ...... if you really UNDERSTAND what it takes to be successfully in business, you'll know that good service is ONE - just ONE - key aspect to be successful ........ maybe you should consider going into the charity business .... you know there is a few CEO positions going vacant these days .... maybe more people will be more sensitive to your feelings then ......

Tell you how I feel NOW. I wish, wish, wish, wish and wish very, very, very, very hard that the PI whom I got my ride from will be the first to be force out of the PI business because they gave me FOUR months of hell - and I had to fork out 80K of my hard earned money for the privilege, thank you.

Just updated the PI thread ..... quite amazed that there is actually at least 65 PIs operating now .... I guess with the decreasing number of COEs, there'll be less cars for sale .... meaning soon there'll be more competition and some of these PIs will NOT make it.

Anyone want to bet which PI will be the first to close shop flowerface.gif ?

most likely the new or small PIs started out late when most big time pioneer PIs already made bucks in the past...

there's new PI thread in MCF..maybe you can check with him laugh.giflipsrsealed.gif

Unquote.

No point wishing/hoping/willing any of the PIs to close shop...... they'll just reopen for business at another address under another name.

Turbocharged

Why don't you let the info rip across all forums instead of starting a thread like this? Let us know which PI sucks

I heard of this case from my supplier, he say his friend buy a wish from PI, in the end kena tow away for no reason. He say the PI wish he get from was from another PI. However the PI can't afford to pay the wish he import and kena tow away.

Dear See_nik, I am not in the car business but building consultancy business. Having read your last paragraph of your posting dated 8 April 2007 at 1.28pm, it is now clear to me the reason of you initiating your thread. It is evident that you have been a victim of one of these PIs company and that is why you are blowing up. But is it unjustifiable of you to condemn all PIs.

In the 1st place, why do you purchase your vehicle from a PI and not the ADs. Unless someone pointed a gun or a knife and force you to buy from them, otherwise you have yourself to blame as you bought from the latter on your own accord.

Generally speaking, I don't think that any PIs would want to hide or cheat the customers. As the saying goes, 'you can cheat once but not the 2nd time' as a human mouth is the most destructive weapon by spreading words around. Unless that PI is unscrupulous and unsincere in his business, it's just a matter of time that their business will go burst.

Do not forget that even owners of expensive vehicles also face problems with their vehicles as evident from the postings in the press media. So, you are not the only one!

I think that to put the matter in clear perspective, it's just proper that you put your reasons down in this forum as to why you choose to buy your vehicle from a PI, the name of this company to enable readers to be wary.

At least, this will clear any doubts whatsoever from anyone who has intention to purchase their vehicle from PIs.
